Monday, March 7, 2011. Science Inquiry Project - Volcanoes. Saturday, March 5, 2011. A few weeks ago, a cohort member and I had the opportunity to meet with four 3. Grade students from Woodmoor Elementary; Shay, Allen, Kindle and Gladys (not their real names). Our objective, during this meeting, was to attempt to understand their mathematical thinking. We did this by asking students to quickly count the number of objects they were shown for a period of three seconds. This experience was very eye-opening.
