Smiths in Manila: January 2007
http://manilasmiths.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 23, 2007. When we found out we were moving to the Philippines, I bought a ‘teach yourself Tagalog’ book. I was already up to chapter four before we even left NZ! Oh, the motivation that I had. Couldn’t wait to be fluent within a year of arriving. Life happened. There seemed to be plenty on my plate. I was disappointed in myself for not making more of an effort with the language. And they were still doing much better than I had done! Not only does Lisa know grammar, but she knows the ling...

Smiths in Manila: September 2006
http://manilasmiths.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 28, 2006. I heard a mighty crash, and looked on the ground - it looked like the bonnet from a car, but I couldn't tell, as we're 11 stories up. Someone picked it up off the road. Luckily no one was under it! Looking out the window the other way, we saw some curtains from 2 floors up fluttering in the wind. Either the wind had sucked them out the small open windows at the top of their living room glass wall, or a whole pane of glass had fallen out of their living room! Now here we are,...

Smiths in Manila: August 2006
http://manilasmiths.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 31, 2006. After nearly two weeks of living in our apartment building, we finally got a swim in the pool! The day before we arrived, it had been drained for annual cleaning, but today it was all go, and I think the girls and I were the first ones in! We were there by 8am, and it was a very pleasant time indeed. The sun wasn't high enough to be directly on us, but it was definitely warm enough to swim! Posted by Smiths in Manila @ 9:44 PM. http://lionskiwisandkangas.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Lions, Kiwis and Kangas. We are Gary, Sheryl, Caitlin and Ryan. Wednesday, 24 October 2007. Well after a busy and rather stressful few months we have been on a well deserved week away to the Whitsundays. We were supposed to be heading off with Gary's parents and this was to be the big trip within a trip but unfortunately their trip has had to be delayed so at last minute we headed off with my parents. Can't wait to our return trip with Gary's parents, early next year. The lagoon, or as Caitlin called it ...

Lions, Kiwis and Kangas: November 2007
http://lionskiwisandkangas.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Lions, Kiwis and Kangas. We are Gary, Sheryl, Caitlin and Ryan. Wednesday, 28 November 2007. Ryan, Jaffa and the Marble Run. Ahhhh the joy of laughter, Ryan was in hysterics when Jaffa joined in playing with him, swiping the marbles. As soon as we drop Caitlin at preschool all he wants to do is come home and play with Jaffa, I guess it's nice for him to have her all to himself and not compete for attention / playtime. So a few pics of them together. Lion's, Kiwi's and Kanga's. Tuesday, 20 November 2007.

Lions, Kiwis and Kangas: March 2008
http://lionskiwisandkangas.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Lions, Kiwis and Kangas. We are Gary, Sheryl, Caitlin and Ryan. Friday, 28 March 2008. A week in Bargara. So a few days after Claire, Rob and Emma left we headed up North with Gary's parents to Bargara. Is about 3 hours north from the Sunshine Coast and is on the coastline. We chose there as at this time of year it is the wet season in the Whitsundays so not the optimal time to be heading that far north. We had also heard about the Mon Repos. Turtle experience which we were very keen to experience. The l...
