Our Boat – Vagabonding Under Sail
http://vagabondingundersail.org/our-boat-2
A dream, a boat, an ocean of discoveries. Is a very special boat! Https:/ vagabondingundersail.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/malh.mp3. She is a rock-solid 1992 Pacific Seacraft 37. Before us, she spent her entire life (20 years) on Lake Michigan, far from the corrosive effects of salt. Further, she was lovingly stored each winter in heated indoor storage buildings, and was only lightly day-sailed on the lake a few times a year. This was exactly the scenario we were looking for! Yanmar 4JH2E 50hp diesel.

Sailing and living on the sea. Monday, January 12, 2015. As we approached Punta Mita we entered the waypoints on our chartplotter for a number of rocks off the coast and were a bit surprised to see that our Garmin Electronic charts showed these rocks on land instead of in the water – a bit disconcerting. We had heard that some of the electronic charts were off and here was proof. La Cruz is a great destination. Although it is on the Mexican Riviera it still has the Mexican feel with ram shackled buil...
Sailing Sarita: San Carlos
http://sailingsarita.blogspot.com/2015/07/san-carlos.html
Sailing and living on the sea. Monday, July 6, 2015. Just hauled out of the water. San Carlos has a reputation of being one of the safest places to be against hurricanes but it’s certainly not immune to strong winds and tropical storms so we will be watching the weather carefully when we are away and hoping that all will be well. We do plan in coming back for the height of the hurricane season being October. Sarita on the hard in Marina Seca San Carlos. Posted by Sailing Sarita.
Sailing Sarita: Santo Dominigo
http://sailingsarita.blogspot.com/2015/07/santo-dominigo.html
Sailing and living on the sea. Monday, July 6, 2015. Anchored at Isla Coyote. We sailed pretty much all the way to the anchorage and arrived at a deep twilight, dropping the hook in another picturesque empty anchorage with a smooth white and shell littered sandy beach. So hot my shoes melted. Was there another hurricane on the way? Over the next few days we visited a few other anchorages and settled on Playa Coyote as a place we would spend a few days and wait for our friends on Pesto and Coastal Drifter...

Sailing Sarita: San Juanico
http://sailingsarita.blogspot.com/2015/07/san-juanico.html
Sailing and living on the sea. Sunday, July 5, 2015. We scouted out the anchorage and decided that it was not a place we wanted to stay for a few days as we had to anchor quite a way offshore and it provided little protection from northerlies and looked a bit barren so we continued on to San Juanico bay which looked far more promising from the write up in the guide book. Subject: Running on one engine and howling like a banshee! For those not familiar, a banshee is a “fairy woman” who wails when someone in the house (or in our case boat) is about to die! Above is a picture of what it looks like running with one engine. Not much difference in the boats wake or performance. As we entered the Los Angeles breakwater, our ...

Sailing Sarita: March 2015
http://sailingsarita.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sailing and living on the sea. Friday, March 20, 2015. I also need to replace the wind vane and bird protector on the top of the mast since those dammed FRIGATE birds keep landing on the top of the mast and flying off with various parts of my boat. I have no idea how they removed the bird protector as it has to be unscrewed. And no it does not involve covering them in Vaseline or varnish. Posted by Sailing Sarita. Even more friends from afar. Check out the teenage stance. When the Lees departed we hired ...

A forest of tree’s surrounds the long path up to the property. Midway, the trees open up to reveal two beautifully manicured gardens. The walk to the front door continues to the River Cher.
