I flew to Colorado to see Mom and my family on June 15. When I got to the airport, I rented a car and drove directly up to Rocky Mountain National Park and hiked to Bierstadt Lake and Bear Lake. I skiied this route with Guy Groves in 1973, some 42 years ago. It seems impossible that so many years have gone by. Posted by Bill Fulton.

We've hiked this so many times before it was like seeing an old friend again. It was surprising how much the trees in the old clearcut have grown. We used to be able to see above them, and now they block the view. When we got to the top, we lay around in the grass and enjoyed the warm sun, then we started down.
