Monday, August 30, 2010. It's the end of summer.the end of great fresh fruit.so time to get canning! This weekend I made two batches of Strawberry Jalapeno Jam. One of our favorites, and we've given so much away that the batch I made earlier this summer is already gone. It's a quick recipe, and now we have 20 jars to last us until next Spring. I also tried out a new recipe from local kitchen. A great food blog that I found through Food In Jars. Another one of my favorites). Pirate Peaches.

Wednesday, September 15, 2010. It's been a loooong 4 days of birthday celebrations here! I didn't realize how having a toddler's birthday on Tuesday, but the birthday party on the Saturday prior, would drag out. We had such a special time, especially because Annika's "Grandma T" (my mom) came to visit. This was her first trip by herself, leaving Dad in the very capable hands of the nursing home. He did have several visitors that checked in on him daily, and managed just fine. And The Whole Nine Yarns.
