A Deep South native, storytelling is in her bones. Writing is an extension of talking, and talking is a skill she has mastered. In school, she realized that her passion was not simply telling a story but depicting a true story in a way that the reader can experience it as if they were there. Journalism became the natural fit. Addicted to putting words to real life events, Valerie began at the University of Alabama in the fall of 2012 to pursue a dual degree in Journalism and Apparel and Textile Design.
