Saturday 31 January 2015, Lakeside. Mark Milano about to cross the line in M40 Relay to seal their Shield Premiership. VALLEY ATHLETES TEAM UP FOR SUCCESS. Cameron Simon and Grant Morgan battled out the first heat of the Men's 40 1500m at the start of the day to get the team off to a great start. Simon crossed first in 4:17.46, with Morgan close behind in 4:18.90. Simon backed up later by running the 3000m Steeple in 10:35.33 and the 400m in 56.84. The AV Knockout final, held at the Lakeside Stadium, was used by a number of DVAC athletes seeking to sharpen up before the 2015 Australian Junior Championships and the final of the Australian Tour in Sydney next week. Monica Brennan was happy with her work in the 200m; she finished in 24.00. DVAC Winter Club Championship Competition. The Diamond Valley Winter Club Championship is a competition to recognise our athletes both for regular participation and the quality of their running. It is based on each Athletics Victoria event during the season and also the Club runs such as Bin nak, Yellow Gum Park and Westerfolds. There are 3 divisions for Men and 3 divisions for Women, being Open, Masters (40 ) and Juniors (U20). Masters athletes score points in both Open and Masters divisions.

DVAC Winter Club Handicap Competition. The Annual Club Winter Handicap Competition is on again Small change in categories this season. Juniors now split into Men and Women. Diamond Valley Athletic Club Masters athletes, Cameron Simon and Gaelyne Kenshole have returned from the Australian Masters Championships with a collection of five Gold medals between them. Cameron Simon won three events in the Men's 40-44 years age group; he won the Gold medal in the 800m, 2:07.10, the 1500m, 4:28.31, and the 3000m Steeplechase, 9:27.38.
