She is showing some promise as a pitcher but she also is doing really well with her fielding. We need to work on her batting but that will come in time. I hope the weather improves because today it is cold, raining, and yes, snowing. Busy weekend as my son makes his first communion on Sunday and we will have a houseful of family. Cheesecake Maven in Iowa. Another day, another cheesecake . . . Sunday, September 11, 2011. So far, I've canned about 20 pints of tomatoes, 20 quarts of hot cucumber pickles, and 15 pints of Fireballs (pickled hot green tomatoes! I've also put about 12 loaves of zucchini bread in the freezer.). We harvested about 100 bulbs of garlic earlier this summer, and used quite a few of them in the above mentioned pickles, along with our red hot peppers and some Joe's Long cayenne pepper.
