I watch Duncan play outside, I cant wait until its warm enough to go play out there too! Trying to figure out the spoon. Grandma and Grandpa Kenney volunteered to babysit over MLK weekend while we went to Orlando, it was Ted's Hanukkah present- he needs his sunshine. The next day we went to Discovery Cove and swam with dolphins, snorkled in a Coral Reef, swam with sting rays and saw amazing birds in their aviary. Ted riding with Lester the dominant male. We went to a few BBQ's over Memorial Day weekend and Daddy shared his drink with me- it was good :). Wow I cannot believe that Eli is 2 months old. I held her next to a newborn last weekend that was bigger than she was when she was born and I couldnt get over how much she's grown already. We went to the doctor for our checkup and she is starting to catch up, 10.7 lbs now, almost in the 50%. My sweet girl still has smiles for me. Ellie has actually been "walking" for sometime but its only been 1 or 2 steps. She is a very cautious walker. She will walk for a long time as long as she is holding your hand. Today though. someone was getting brave :). Happy 1st birthday my sweet one. I can only now understand why everyone tells you to enjoy each minute, that you will be all grown up before I know it. I cannot believe that you are one already! What an amazing year- watching you grow and learn. Hmm, this whole cake thing is a littel odd.

More Fun with Duncan. I like to share my lunch with Duncan. No I didn't feed the dog. Duncan has the sofest ears I like to pet (pull) them. This Thanksgiving we were certainly surrounded by our many blessings. The Zeigers met in the middle to be with us as we hosted dinner for the Kenney clan as well. The Royal Tennenbaums.Zeigers. Mama had a small heart attack but thankfully Ellie was just fine. Her mattress is now at the lowest level and hopefully she wont figure out how to get out anytime soon.

Hooray, we are finally getting our backyard together. Ted has been doing a lot of great landscaping and this week our patio is underway. Ellie is one of the inspectors. Mother's day was wonderful. We had brunch with 3 generations. Ted also took me out for sushi that night but the highlight was watching Ellie develop her palate. Yummy, udon and maguro! After all the running around the house with my phone I was tuckered out. She had a great time playing in the grass and picking up all of the sticks.

Monterey and Big Sur. Sunday evening we drove down the coast to the city of Monterey. The next day we explored a bit of the area and took a walk down "Cannery Row". Kathy and I passed up the Aquarium as we both have been there and Ellie is too young to get much from it. After getting our fill of the local tourist trap we went for a stroll down by the beach. We saw some of the local wildlife: seals, otters, cormorants. And a bus full of German tourists. Do we have a future tree hugger? Back up to Monterey.
