Thursday, July 18, 2013. Hiking Lost River Range, ID. From the road less traveled we take a side gravel road up to Two Springs Pass at 2300 meters through the Lost River Range just north of Mt Borah (Idahos highest peak). An earthquake in the 80s caused the valley bottom to drop 9 ft and the sheer line is still clearly visible for 20 miles. Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Awesome flight at Bridal in light NE outflow wind. My favored flight of the year so far! For a while I thermalled with a curious juvenile Bald Eagle. S/he flew with me for a few minutes, cocking her head one way and then the other maybe to figure what this weird contraption of fabric and strings was. September long weekend weather didn’t look good for flying so Pete came up with the splendid idea to paddle the Fraser River from Hope to Burnaby. Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Frozen Beauty - Gates Lake. Finally southwest BC is getting some of the cold much of Canada had to put up with all winter. Cold arctic outflow air is reaching our area. Lakes in the mountains around Whistler and Pemberton are solidly frozen and thanks to the lack of snow in prime skating conditions! We also tried out another new activity: a friend took us ice climbing. Since the main ice climbing area was crowded with people we found our own mini cliff with a sunny belay...

Friday, June 28, 2013. Wenatchee - June 22/23. Surf is up on the Wenatchee! Its the second time in my whitewater kayak this year. glad I still remember how to paddle. I only have some pictures of Pete (on Gorilla or whatever its called) but I got plenty of wave time too. We had Turkey shoot wave all to ourselves for an hour.
