time well wasted: February 2015
http://myfrontporchlookingin.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 17, 2015. On having the fourth. I survived the first week with Dave back to work. Hooray! I have been so nervous about having 4 kids. There were so many times leading up to Charlie's birth that I thought, "I am so far out of control as it is. Why am I having another child? Not to mention that we have been so well taken care of by our friends and neighbors. I do not think it is coincidental. God is aware of us and takes care of us. I was talking to a new mother the other day who is strug...

time well wasted: April 2015

Thursday, April 16, 2015. On stages and my favorite age. When the above photo was taken, I was nursing Charlie and trying to convince Katie to go play with Daddy since she was climbing all over me. Her response: "No, he is doing boring stuff.". The other day, after Dave and I realized that the box to the double bed we just bought for the girls was NOT going to fit down the stairs, Katie said to us, "That's okay. We just need to try teamwork! She is always the little cheerleader for everyone. Because we a...

time well wasted: katie at four
http://myfrontporchlookingin.blogspot.com/2015/08/katie-at-four.html
Thursday, August 6, 2015. This is her being mad because her crown had a bend in it. Man, she is fun though. She says hilarious things in hilarious ways. She is thoughtful and generous and loves to play. She is good at making friends and is starting to read and loves Wild Kratts and Daniel Tiger. She loves pink and dressing up and playing with Jack. She lives for snuggles:. And is frequently seen in dress ups:. This was the birthday outfit Granny picked out because she wanted a purple sparkly dress. A loo...

Simply Steeds: June 2015

Sunday, June 28, 2015. Calming Colic with the 5 S's! So many exciting things have happened since I last posted! One of which was we bought a piano for Father's Day! It was Mitch's first Father's Day and it was so exciting to be the first to wish him a happy Father's Day. I am SO excited to have an electric piano in our apartment. It is CRAMMED at our place, but we have loved playing it so much! And the intense and often dissonant yet beautiful organ music from one of his favorite movies, Interstellar.

time well wasted: March 2015
http://myfrontporchlookingin.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 27, 2015. I like to ask (and be asked) hard questions. I like the process of thinking things through and coming to conclusions. I like to be able to see both sides of an issue and figuring out where I stand. I don't even mind changing my mind. But sometimes, I just want to look a pictures of my cute babies. And there are far too few pictures of my baby on here. 3 weeks old: taken by Ana. Blessing day: March 1. Blessing day: March 1. Sleeping on the floor. 2 months old and loves his hand!

time well wasted: January 2015
http://myfrontporchlookingin.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 29, 2015. One week ago this little boy entered the world. I decided to be induced and from the time they gave me pitocin til he was born was less than 3 hours. It was quick. I would like to say it was painless, but my epidural only half worked. At least it was quick. My mom came down Wednesday night and took care of the kids while we were in the hospital. There is nothing in this world better than having a sleeping newborn on your chest. This is my favorite way to nap. So far he is a sw...

time well wasted: July 2015
http://myfrontporchlookingin.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Our has been wonderfully low-key thus far. Jack turned 7 and finished up baseball. Ana did tennis lessons. The kids have eaten loads of otter pops, set up huge box forts in the backyard, played with neighbor friends. We visited my sister in Boise, too, and that was fun. I have also tried to encourage a little bit more cooperation and help in the housework, so it hasn't been all fun and games. But mostly fun and games. Just a small thread in a beautiful tapestry. time well wasted: keepin' it real
http://myfrontporchlookingin.blogspot.com/2015/05/keepin-it-real.html
Friday, May 15, 2015. Coming home from work. photo credit: Katie. How Dave spends his days off. But sometimes it just sucks. Because for every long day he has, I have a long day too. I can't complain to him about it, because, let's face it, he will clock 80 hours this week. Katie finally settled down and I got the kids in bed and asleep just in time for Dave to fall asleep because he has to wake up at 5:30 to start all over again. I just wanted to keep it real for a minute. Posted by Erin L. I am a mothe...

Saturday, June 6, 2015. An interview with Mom. If ever you want to know how you are doing as a parent, just ask your kids! I asked my 3 big kids these questions and the answers were a little funny and a little insightful and all around good fun. Trip to San Diego 2015. Katie - age 3 (and a half as she always says). 1 What is something mom always says to you? Go get your jammies on. 2 What makes mom happy? Giving her a hug. 3 What makes mom sad? Not giving her a hug. 4 How does your mom make you laugh?
