This is one of a series of images created to promote a non-profit teen center, “The Jungle Teen Center”. The image in the center is a picture taken of a teenage band at The Jungle playing their instruments. The picture was poor quality and so I opted for a grunge aesthetic to camouflage that fact. An Instructional Design Showcase. Alanna Olive-Smith is an Instructional Designer hailing from Bloomsburg University’s MSIT (Master of Science in Instructional Technology) graduate program, where she also served as a graduate assistant. She completed the program in May of 2013. Alanna has already earned a B.A in English from Arcadia University where she graduated cum laude. She was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa and briefly attended England’s University of York.

An Instructional Design Showcase. Articulate is a software that enables the production of training that can respond to and evaluate learner responses. This training can progress on its own according to a set time limit or be asynchronous in nature, progressing at the pace of the learner as they move through. Engage, Presenter and Quizmaker were the main tools used in these cases. Alanna has also created training for Zerion Software’s iPhone app, “iFormBuilder” using Articulate Storyline.

An Instructional Design Showcase. While Adobe Flash is no longer a primary component in most website creation due to its extended load time, poor SEO (search engine optimization) capabilities and lack of mobile support, it is still a powerful creation tool. Flash can be used to create interactions and mobile applications. Alanna possesses basic Flash and Actionscript 3 literacy. A sample of her Flash work can be found here:. An Instructional Design Showcase. Jing is a screen capture software that allows a user to record and narrate their actions as they work. Alanna worked with this software to create a tutorial that built on her earlier work. In the Illustrator section is a flyer designed for a children’s podcast.
