Adventures of a vegan in Paris. Racing, recovery and Altra. 2 months since my last post, I have to admit I’ve probably been spending more time in the car than in the kitchen. The past 2 months have been filled with work and running and races. Not that I’m complaining, I love traveling to races and running in beautiful mountains. My first announcement is the … Continue reading →. VeganOut in Paris : Class is in session! VeganOut in Zurich: Tidbits and Skiing. This week was full of stomach problems and nap...

Marathon training week 4: growing pains & drinks on the Seine | vegan parisienne

http://vegannparis.com/2013/08/05/marathon-training-week-4-growing-pains-drinks-on-the-seine

Adventures of a vegan in Paris. Marathon training week 4: growing pains and drinks on the Seine. This entry was posted on August 5, 2013 and tagged drinks. On Sunday and then I negotiated with Alexei to massage the giant leg knot in return for ironing his work shirts. Score. Saturday on the Seine. With 4x hills (aka run up a giant bridge b/c I live in the city). Legs and core still tired from Sunday’s 14-miler, but ok overall. Wednesday: Skipped a 4 mile run and went to the pool. Mmm that’s nice! I&#8217...

Vegan banana bread & week 5 marathon training | vegan parisienne

http://vegannparis.com/2013/08/12/vegan-banana-bread-week-5-marathon-training

Adventures of a vegan in Paris. Vegan banana bread and week 5 marathon training. This entry was posted on August 12, 2013 and tagged banana bread. Usually when I bake things I get them pretty close to right on the first try. If it’s not perfect, it’s at least pretty good and I make a mental note of what to add or take away for the next time I make it. Before I was eating vegan, I made banana bread with eggs and oil. 60% of the time it worked every time. Just look at this “chia egg:”. Tuesday’s trac...

What goes well with sweet potato & cashew dip? | vegan parisienne

http://vegannparis.com/2013/04/04/what-goes-well-with-sweet-potato-cashew-dip

Adventures of a vegan in Paris. What goes well with sweet potato and cashew dip? This entry was posted on April 4, 2013 and tagged baking. Of course, they don’t sell pita chips in Paris, so I made them myself. It’s actually extremely easy and fun to do…. First, find some pita. I found some in my local Franprix. Now mix the disassembled pita in a large bowl with plenty of olive oil, dried basil and salt. Bake the now seasoned and oiled pita on a baking sheet for about 8 minutes. April 10, 2013 at 11:43 am.

Striving for non-violence while trit-trotting through the mainstream. In the Shadow of Winter. February 6, 2015. This past weekend, we had planned on running the Groundhog Jog. In Punxsutawney, PA. One of the many winter storms that marched through the area made us decide not to chance the 2 hour drive there to run to Gobbler’s Nob and back, We had enjoyed the run a couple of years ago and were really disappointed to not get to run with such great people again. Striving for non-violence while trit-trotting through the mainstream. February 3, 2013. A real (unwritten) bucket list moment for me, I met Punxy Phil and his handler John Griffiths! Supported by Gingerbread Man Running. This year was the Groundhog Jog in Punxsutawney, PA. It was set to be run the day after Groundhog Day and the course had runners actually take a turn through the famous Gobbler’s Knob. Punxy Phil and his followers. Vegan Novice | adventures of a former omnivore

That’s a Wrap! As much as I love taking a break over the holidays, it’s good to be back in the swing of things. Since my office was closed on Monday, I caught up on email in my pajamas, crossed a couple of domestic items off my to-do list, did a spin class at Flywheel. And popped into west elm. To check out a couple of items I have been investigating for the new digs, including this tripod table:. Photo credit: west elm. And what a year it has been for vegans, indeed. Perhaps I am somewhat biased, bu...

Sunday, September 22, 2013. When I was a chef at the Ravens'. One favorite starter on the menu was the grilled mushroom salad, or more formally, Grilled Moroccan Spiced Trumpet Mushrooms over fresh cut romaine, red bell pepper, celery, red onions, and olives with lime-cilantro vinaigrette. The mushrooms were marinated in fresh squeezed orange juice, tons of garlic and paprika and grilled to perfection. I was so taken by these flavors and then this hummus was born. 1/4 cup garlic cloves. Alternatively you...
