Mets Tailgate: About Mets Tailgate
http://www.metstailgate.com/2008/08/inaugural-post.html
Friday, August 15, 2008. 1 What is this blog all about? I will write mostly statistically-minded posts about the Mets, covering stats which casual fans may not understand/appreciate (though they really should). Some of these stats include: OPS , FIP, ERA , WAR, and also the more recognizable BA/OBP/SLG. Additionally, I will write Mets top 10 lists, trade analysis, and general thoughts about the players, announcers, front office etc. Matt Cerrone’s METSBLOG. Posted by Nick Nightingale. Beyond the Box Score.

Mets Tailgate: Georgetown vs. St. John's to open Citi Field
http://www.metstailgate.com/2009/02/georgetown-vs-st-johns-to-open-citi.html
Monday, February 23, 2009. Georgetown vs. St. John's to open Citi Field. A college baseball game between Georgetown. And St. John's. Will be the first game played at Citi Field, on Sunday, March 29th, according to mlb.com. Tickets are just $5 and go on sale Monday, March 2nd. I plan to be in attendance, as it is a cheap way to get an early look at Citi Field, and also because Georgetown is my alma mater. The Hoya basketball team will almost certainly not be alive in the NCAA Tournament (NIT? Sir mix a lot.

http://www.metstailgate.com/2008/12/mystery-pitchers-b-c-d.html
Sunday, December 21, 2008. Mystery pitchers A, B, C and D. I got this idea from Dave. I will present the 2008 statistics of 4 mystery starting pitchers who I think are similar in terms of the quality of innings they provide. A couple hints:. 3 of the 4 are free agents. 1 is reportedly available via trade. 1 is a Type A free agent and 1 is a Type B free agent. That's all the info I'll provide, so let's see how the 4 stacked up in 2008:. A 29 year-old Type B free agent I've covered here. That's an extremel...

Mets Tailgate: Fun with win expectancy: June 30, 2000 - Mets 11, Braves 8
http://www.metstailgate.com/2009/01/fun-with-win-expectancy-june-30-2000.html
Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Fun with win expectancy: June 30, 2000 - Mets 11, Braves 8. A win expectancy graph is pretty self explanatory. It tells us the the probability that a team will win a game at any point in that game, based on score, innings, situation, etc. The graph above is from the Mets-Braves game on June 30, 2000. Flyout to CF (1 out). RBI groundout (2 outs, 8-2 Braves). RBI single (8-3 Braves). RBI walk (8-4 Braves). RBI walk (8-5 Braves). RBI walk (8-6 Braves). 2 RBI single (8-8 tied!

DU FOOTBALL, DES FILLES ET DES GAGEURES: PLAYOFF !!!!
http://footballgambler.blogspot.com/2012/01/playoff.html
Samedi 7 janvier 2012.

Mets Tailgate: The difference between the Mets and Phillies in 2008
http://www.metstailgate.com/2008/11/difference-between-mets-and-phillies-in.html
Monday, November 17, 2008. The difference between the Mets and Phillies in 2008. This post is about 1.5 months too late. David Wright. Could've used it when everyone wanted their heads on a platter following the final game of the season. I think calmer heads have prevailed, and Met fans generally realize that trading one of the "core" (Wright, Reyes, and Carlos Beltran. The Mets and Phillies scored the exact same number of runs. The Phils' bullpen was far superior to the Mets' bullpen. Mets Tailgate on F...

Mets Tailgate: High Comedy from the MLB Network
http://www.metstailgate.com/2009/02/high-comedy-from-mlb-network.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2009. High Comedy from the MLB Network. The first two minutes are an informative look at Baseball Prospectus’s PECOTA projection system. The rest descends into standard former-player-turned-analyst idiocy. If this was an SNL skit, it would be genius. (via BtB. 8220;Stats are ridiculous! 8211; “You might be hitting .215, but there’s a quality .215 that does not get translated into the stats” – what? Posted by Nick Nightingale. How can they argue with it? However, I strongly believe...

Wailing And Failing: Shit, I Wanna Tittyfuck Nicky Whalen!
http://wailingandfailing.blogspot.com/2011/04/shit-i-wanna-tittyfuck-nicky-whalen.html
Remember that after a Friday evening must always come a Sunday night. Monday, April 11, 2011. Shit, I Wanna Tittyfuck Nicky Whalen! A couple weeks ago. Not a fan of the Farrelly Brothers - never seen. There's Something About Mary. And I don't have a hunkering to see it - and I thought they're passé now that guys like Judd Apatow and Todd Phillips push gross humor down its own untrodden paths. But Hall Pass had two things that appealed to me: Jason Sudeikis, the very relatable straight man on. Leigh sugge...

Wailing And Failing: Am I Cheap?
http://wailingandfailing.blogspot.com/2015/07/am-i-cheap.html
Remember that after a Friday evening must always come a Sunday night. Sunday, July 19, 2015. Really bad day at My Favorite Stripclub (Non-Cover Edition) yesterday. It was all due to two people. One of them was this weird, pathetic old man whose seat I mistakenly took. While I was walking back there he, having vacated that seat to get a dance, marched right back up and took it "back," even though I was standing right beside it. Whatever, dude. Why was she acting all rude? Sure, I didn't tip her or get a d...
