Delicata Squash Bread | Feast
https://feastinghomewrecker.wordpress.com/2010/11/23/delicata-squash-bread
November 23, 2010 @ 8:56 am. 183; { CSA. Kind of like pumpkin bread. I’m sure by now you are aware that I have a preposterous amount of all different types of squash in my house. I lay in bed sometimes wondering what I could possibly do with it all. One of my more clever ideas was to make squash bread. I figured, hey, if pumpkin bread is so delicious, why wouldn’t delicata squash bread be as well? This is a familiar scene for me. Here is the recipe:. 1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour. You are comme...

It Ain't Meat, Babe: July 2012
http://www.itaintmeatbabe.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 15, 2012. I had my first migraine in months this week and wow, was I annoyed. It wasn't a horrible migraine, as migraines go, but seeing as I'd gone most of my pregnancy without migraines, I was beginning to harbour a slight hope that pregnancy had cured me of this particular affliction. No such luck. Kids don't like that kind of food! You'll be making him macaroni and cheese and eating processed meals over the sink! Jake is almost three years old and he sat at the table with us and ate the ...

It Ain't Meat, Babe: Vegan Spanish Omelet
http://www.itaintmeatbabe.com/2008/12/vegan-spanish-omelet.html
Monday, December 29, 2008. Recently, after drooling over a photo that accompanied a Spanish tortilla recipe in a British home magazine, I started thinking about how to veganize it. So I made an experimental tofu tortilla one night for dinner. I was worried that with all that tofu and all those potatoes, it might end up being, well,. Instead, it ended up being wildly delicious. The Man of Science, when digging in for seconds, asked, "This is going to be added to your repertoire,. I'll call that a success.

Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Wordless Wednesday: It's Asparagus Time. Tis the season for Ontario asparagus right now and I just want to eat it all the time. I know there are lots of fancy things you can do with fresh asparagus, but I will always prefer to just drizzle them with olive oil, then add a bit of lemon juice, salt, and pepper, then roast them in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Hooray for spring vegetables grown close to home. Saturday, May 19, 2012. I thought. What if it's repeats from here on in.

Speaking of dinner and babies, a few people have asked me how I manage to still cook dinner every night when caring for an infant. Here's how:. 21/2 cups whole pecans. 1 tsp baking soda. 2 tbsp Earth Balance coconut spread, melted. 1 tsp maple syrup. Six apples, peeled, cored, and chopped. 1/4 cup maple syrup. I should end w...

Sunday, June 10, 2012. Shockingly Delicious Pasta Salad. Oh, Jamie Oliver, I do adore you. I love your enthusiasm for simple dishes, your weird refusal to use exact recipes, and yes, your scruffy handsomeness. My mom and I both gasped with delight when we saw you'd be appearing this week on Masterchef Australia. And your Jamie at Home show is one of the loveliest things I've ever seen on TV. Not that the "vegetarian" dishes aren't delicious! Or perhaps some tofu? Or is that what you wanted all along?

Monday, October 29, 2012. On the evening of October 15th, I realized that I was saying the word, "Yikes" every seven minutes. At first they said they weren't even going to admit us, but then the nurse told me that the baby wasn't reacting well to my contractions. They admitted us, we called our doula, Danielle, and I made myself comfortable in the hospital bed. Monday, October 8, 2012. Canadian Thanksgiveganing: AKA Your Best Meal Ever. The continuing adventures of a vegan foodie in this crazy world. I really should cook with cornmeal more…. February 21, 2010 in Uncategorized Tags: corn. Ah, remember the hearts? Now why can I never seem to keep from smiling at the thought of little cookie cutters? I made them to adorn a roasted eggplant and chestnut bisque (with blood orange and mint), but the trick is that I made them spicy! It’s pretty simple to do, and I learned a new method for making polenta thanks to Mark Bittman. 1 tbsp olive oil.
