The House of Fran mart. Saturday, 8 August 2015. A guide to spotting Banded Lapwings. I apologise for the quality of some (OK all) of these images but the birds were over 50m away and the sun was in an unfortunate direction. Sometimes Banded Lapwings are standing up and thus easy to spot. Some are not too bad as they are squatting - presumably to examine a tasty invertebrate. Others really chuck on the camouflage. As far as I am aware there is not a Banded lapwing in this image. The Nature of Robertson.

The House of Fran mart. Tuesday, 30 September 2014. The Steg comes to Carwoola in top gear. Now any rev-heads who have ended up here while looking for he of the white Nomex. Will realise that theyhave followed a typo and there is an 'e" in the abbreviation for Stegostyla ustulata. The catalyst for this post was finding the first plant of this species for 2014 this morning. If you don't agree that that flower is some top gear, I have great sympathy for you! Nearby I found some flowering Drosera peltata.

Plantations. That has given quite a bit of play to Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoos which dine quite happily on the cones of that species. I felt that I was spinning my wheels a bit this afternoon so it seemed sensible to clear things for the morrow by doing my clean up a day early.
