veggiegobbler

Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Lately, blog writing has become a task on my to do list. It used to motivate and satisfy me and make me smile. It's not doing that as much for me lately. And I can't help wondering if I might get more checked off my to do list if I spent less time sitting at the keyboard. So I've decided its time to take a blog holiday. Of course, I'll still be reading what's going on in your gardens and getting inspired and being reminding of the things I should be planting. Plants can remove th...

veggiegobbler: December 2012

http://veggiegobbler.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, December 13, 2012. It smells like poo". At first I thought they were just being kids making the usual oh-so-funny poo jokes. But then the adults agreed that it did indeed smell like poo. And then I remembered that I had lovingly prepared that flower bed beforehand with a pile of pelletised chook poo. And I can confirm that the unpleasant smell of chook poop is quite a bit stronger than the faint chocolatey aroma from a cosmos mocha. Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Garlic curing in the garden shed.

veggiegobbler: January 2013

http://veggiegobbler.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 31, 2013. What I'd really like to do is to get more organised and productive in the garden and to make sure that I don't waste the stuff I'm growing. So I've set myself a challenge. Each Thursday. I'm gonna do a Garden Gobble. Post It will contain a picture of something I've managed to grow in the garden and a picture of a dish I made with the produce during the week. And I'm inviting you all to join in with a link to your own pics. If I can figure out the linky widget. So maybe he thin...

veggiegobbler: February 2013

http://veggiegobbler.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, February 28, 2013. Eat Your Greens Garden Gobbles. Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Not so long ago I thought I didn't have enough space in my garden. Not enough space for all the veggies and fruit I wanted to grow. But I'm starting to realise that is a complete nonsense. I just need to get a bit wiser in the way that I am growing. So I've decided this year to. Plant things closer together. I'm no expert but those instructions on spacings on seeds packets are surely wrong. Get rid of the grass.

Thursday, April 4, 2013. Garden Gobbles - Spaghetti Squash Fritters. This week I used the last of the spaghetti squash. Sounds impressive doesn't it? Like I had oodles and oodles of spaghetti squash just hanging off the fence over summer. Nope. Actually I had just the two. 8226; 1 spaghetti squash. 8226; 100g ricotta cheese. 8226; 2 eggs. 8226; a bunch of herbs from the garden. 8226; oil for frying. Drain on paper towel and serve with salad. Fiona from Arbordale Farm. April 4, 2013 at 8:54 AM. A friend g...

veggiegobbler: November 2012

http://veggiegobbler.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 29, 2012. Yesterday I was showing my friend Ms. C. around the garden and we were admiring the veggies and so on and then I decided to take the washing off the line. And Ms. C. was playing with Wokee the dog and admiring the garden a bit more. And then she remarked on the lovely passionfruit flowers. But I don't have a passionfruit vine. So I cranked my neck in the direction she was pointing and oh-my-googly-eyes I do have a passionfruit vine! Native creeper that has been plodding along...
