Fueling a love for running with delicious and nutritious foods! Veggin' Out in the Kitchen. Healthy Chocolate Peppermint Donuts (and the Great Green Glob reveal! The children were nestled all snug in their beds while visions of chocolate peppermint donuts danced in their heads. Wait, that's not how the poem goes? It's Christmas Eve, and I couldn't be more in the Christmas spirit! But anyway, back to the donuts. Do I really need to say anything more? Not to mention that the donuts themselves have around 1...

Fueling a love for running with delicious and nutritious foods! Veggin' Out in the Kitchen. Italy 2014 - Part 5. The pictures didn't come out great, but it was absolutely gorgeous inside! After we were re-fueled and re-hydrated, we set off for our tour! We entered through a special gate guarded by Vatican guards dressed in stripped red, yellow, and blue outfits. We walked back into an area of the Vatican grounds that is not normally visible to the public but was absolutely gorgeous. We exited the tour th...

Fueling a love for running with delicious and nutritious foods! Veggin' Out in the Kitchen. Italy 2014 - Part 2. If your missed my first recap post of my summer Italian adventures, be sure to check it out here. With one of the coolest things being this marble mine we passed on the way to the towns where they were mining real Italian marble! The towns were still lovely, though rather touristy. Look at these tiny little farm trucks! And of course we had to get our daily gelato! The bread was toasted, rubbe...

Fueling a love for running with delicious and nutritious foods! Veggin' Out in the Kitchen. Italy 2014 - Part 3. And the great saga continues! Click for Part 1. Ohhh look at all that cheese! Talk about huge blocks of cheese I can't even imagine how much these weighed! It was like they managed to find a way to dry every single fruit! While I'm not a fan of dry American biscotti, the real Italian deal is an entirely different, tastier story! Florence's oldest bridge is lined with shops. We started with bru...

Q's or A's. April 28, 2011 at 6:44 PM Posted in Breakfast. I know I’ve been truly M.I.A. lately. There are so many things to take care of lately! Yet, I’m not about to give up because God’s given me all the strength that I need. 😉. This means that my whole room is pretty much a beautiful mess. (I love oxymorons, don’t you? Basically, it seems almost as if a tornado swept by while I was gone! Although, I’m starting to believe that a tornado has been plaguing me my entire life. Oops… 😛. 2 Do the STUFF.

Baking and babbling one day at a time. Of Cookies and Carrots. You know that feeling when you put on a pair of jeans you haven’t worn in a few months? How the starched-out cotton clings to your thighs and you have to wriggle around to get the zipper to zip, despite not having gained any weight? The way you awkwardly waddle from place to place as they reform to fit your legs? I’m 2nd from the left in case you can’t remember what I look like. These help. :). Baking and babbling one day at a time. Of Cookies and Carrots. The boy who lived [universal studios]. I still remember when we first met. A few weeks later, in our class library session, the librarian pulled it out to recommend it to the class. Some years later, the book exploded with a popularity unlike any I’d ever seen. Some fourteen years later, I sat in tears as the curtain closed on the final installment of the movie series. Yes Did I love it anyways? Yes But ultimately, the magical creations of J&...

Monday, September 9, 2013. My weekend was all over the place there were some good times and then some bad times. I don't really want to reflect on what happened this weekend just because it was not the best weekend. I also was not in my best behavior. Let's just say all weekend I was a total bizznatch. It's so early, it's only September. I know, but really if I don't start now I will do everything last minute and everyone will get crappy Christmas gifts since I would have to really budget. This whole mor...

So, Now That I'm a Vegetarian

Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Last week, we made 15 bean soup. It was fantastic food fare. The best part -the package was less than a $1 at Kroger. I tossed the ham flavoring packet that came with it and threw away the directions that said to cook with a hambone. We ate 2 full meals off of it and I had leftovers for myself another time after that. It was just about the best bean soup I've every had and with very minimum effort. However, you do have to plan ahead to soak the beans. Monday, May 2, 2011.
