All of my friends, meat-eaters and vegetarian, looked at me like I was crazy for even trying vegetarian seafood. And maybe for good reason. But I was curious. I'm not sure what I was hoping for with this one. The Yabba Pot. The restaurant at the Baltimore Museum of Art). Wednesday, January 28, 2009. I ordered Teese Cheese. From Pangea: The Vegan Store. To be honest with you I was a little let down given all the hype over Teese. I have some of the Nacho Cheese and I plan on making some serious nachos this weekend. No real recipe for this one. The "Chicken" on one of the pizzas comes from May Wah: Healthy Vegetarian Food. Located in New York ( you can also have it shipped to you). For anyone who has been to Red Bamboo. In New York, May Wah is where they get their fake meats.

Documenting my search for vegetarian meat in Baltimore and beyond. Friday, May 28, 2010. May Wah Vegetarian Pork. Very similar to the Gong Bao chicken, pretty spicy but with a sweet taste. So good. These aren't actually shaped like ribs though, they're more like smallish hunks of meat. I guess the texture is similar to rib meat, sort of dry and chewy. I believe The Yabba Pot. In Baltimore uses these for their citrus ribs, as do some places in NYC. For now.I love that stuff. Cordon Bleu Pork Chop. May Wah...

In Baltimore (2433 Saint Paul St Baltimore, MD 21218) must use them for their friend chicken legs, because they look and taste exactly the same. They sell these in huge bags for $40, but the smaller bags seem to be a better value. For some reason if you refrigerate the barbequed legs, they taste even better cold the next day. Arroz con frijoles d’estate. I originally called this a primavera, but, it’s summer, so, estate is the right word, I think. I was daydreaming about something really fresh and non-processed and full of veggies. I wanted something that would make a filling lunch without being heavy.
