Monday, June 17, 2013. WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO. So, what have I been up to over the past year of no posts? Probably the most significant development was a photo project I did for a friend. His son was born premature, and he wanted me to chronicle the stay in the hospital's NICU. So I went approximately once a week; fifteen times in all. In all, I took about 4,000 shots, and "developed" (in Lightroom) about 1,000 of them. It turned out to be a nice little project! I'm thinking about stopping at the half-way ...

Wednesday, July 10, 2013. The latest version of Photoshop, the Creative Cloud version, has a new feature called "Shake Reduction." It's supposed to reduce blur that results from camera shake. I was skeptical, because it sounds too good to be true. It turns out, it actually works - and pretty amazingly, at that! I tried it on a photo that I loved for sentimental reasons but which, unfortunately, was blurry:. It's not perfect, but it's MUCH better. What can I say? Adobe, I love you!

Friday, May 25, 2012. Sorry I'm late with today's post. I wasn't going to be posting today, but then I learned something new - new to me, that is - that I just had to share. And, before I get to it, let me say that I might be delinquent on posting next week. Anyway, that "new" thing is the "Content Aware Scale" feature in Photoshop. Wow, can it work miracles! What it does is stretch or shrink your image by stretching or shrinking the unimportant parts of the image, while leaving the important parts alone.
