The 80’s kitchen begging for an update. The garage/basement was filled with sturdy shelves…. Four flights of historic stairs. I don’t know how they carried the machines up the stairs. I do know they enjoy not having to carry the laundry down four flights and then to the laundromat. I was glad it was going to a good home.

I really like the idea in Sarah Susanka’s book The Not So Big House. Having grown up in a 200 square feet government flat in Hong Kong I understand the theory behind The Not So Big House.

When all the interior walls were removed I was pleasantly surprised to find how spacious the house became.Ted and Parie had decided that removing three walls and using Structural Insulated panels (SIPs) would save money and time.
