Dave's Yak Tales: February 2015
http://davesyaktales.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Ignore the Tuesday date. This is Monday, February 23, 2015. Morning stroll begins. I had wondered about how, and if, the island cat population is kept under control. This looks like a carriage house to me. Horseless. When I was a kid, my grandmother still had one. No horses. Puffery on a foggy morning. Keeping it all together. I confess. Had shoes and socks. But, I was walking so I think it was ok. Have never gone into the Black Dog Bar and Tables. Cigar bar. Littoral: blog of...

Dave's Yak Tales: December 2014
http://davesyaktales.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Last day of my Christmas weekend. I had thought of doing a sunrise paddle, but as there was not a visible sunrise, I went for a walk. No sympathy from Frosty. Fog did not keep this kayaker off the water. Walking warmed up my ankle. It stopped hurting. When I was a kid, we would go to downtown Milwaukee and look at the "Christmas Windows" Displays in department store windows. I suppose that doesn't happen anymore. Santa was ready to go. I needed the eat breakfast, and pack.

Dave's Yak Tales: November 2014
http://davesyaktales.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Checked out of the Chase Inn and Suites. After breakfast, of course. A good spread. The scrambled eggs had sausage mixed in. On Saturday, it was ham. I again carried out two pieces of bread to make a sandwich with the summer sausage and cheddar I brought from home. On the water at Soldiers Hole, Fort DeSoto Park, just before 10. In the tidal bay behind North Beach. I could see its foot, but did not get it with the camera. Bowing to the Don Cesar.

A sink hole in the River. Held the camera under water. A bit chilly, and I had plans to swim later. Mama thought I was too close. She was right. The current was pushing me. Mama had calves on both sides. 6, maybe 8, manatees at the Hole. I resumed the up River paddle. Peacocks at the Weeki Wachee State Park kayak launch. A great ...

Dave's Yak Tales: June 2015
http://davesyaktales.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. Sunday, did a car bike shuttle to launch from the little park at the end of Dixie Beach Blvd on Sanibel. No parking without as resident pass. So, I drop the kayak bike to Jerry's grocery leave the car, and bike back. On the water, Pine Island Sound, at 10:25. One camera was still on supervivid setting from the prior night's sunset. If you are going to build a house on a point, put a hole in the wall so hurricanes blow through. Bike to the car. Ready to roll. 4 wheel style.

http://davesyaktales.blogspot.com/2015/07/rock-springs-run.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. Early start, on the water at 6:43 AM at Wekiwa Springs State Park. Down the Wekiva River. Up Rock Springs Run. Turn around at 9:02. Saw the deer in the opening photo here look quickly. Turtles. Hard shell. Landed at 11. Well before the afternoon heat and thunderstorms. As I write on September 17, I am guessing I had a sandwich halfway up he hill from the water to the parking lot. One reason to get up early. Crowds at the springs. I headed to the quiet side of the Park.

Dave's Yak Tales: March 2015
http://davesyaktales.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 29, 2015. Blue Spring State Park. Walking to the swim entrance, 8:30, Sunday morning. The above pic is sitting on the steps. Must still be manatees in the Run, as swimming is banned downstream of the sign. Swimming up the Run. It was hard. Either I am getting weaker, or the Run had a stronger flow. Probably the latter. Reached forward, grabbing logs, and pulled myself forward for a boost. Out of the water, to the kayak. On the St. Johns River at 9:30. Into Blue Spring Run. As is the Thursby...

Yellow crowned night herons enjoying the morning. Under way at 8:30. Into Pine Island Sound. Then into the canals. Dave's Yak Tales: Greetings From Cedar Key
http://davesyaktales.blogspot.com/2010/09/greetings-from-cedar-key.html
Saturday, September 4, 2010. Greetings From Cedar Key. There is not a lot of information on internet about the Waccasassa River. Information useful to me, that is. Most links are to the Wacasassa State Preserve, along the Gulf. I finally found this. Http:/ www.floridadayadventures.blogspot.com/2010/02/waccasassa-winter.html. A good report, with a link to another. And hey! It has Dave's Yak Tales as a favorite. I'm touched. Time for a kayaking break. The Gulf is calling. I'll be back. I came to the conflu...
