Åre blev utvald som en av fem destination med stor potential att utvecklas mot internationella marknader på ett hållbart sätt. På Hjärtat har vi varit högst delaktiga genom ett par moment i projektet dels utvecklade vi kampanjsajten Biking Åre. Som var en del av satsningen att öka sommarturismen i byn med fokus på cykling. Resandet har alltid varit en del av mitt liv på olika sätt genom åren och i min barndom och ungdom på 1950 och 60- talet var det inte alls vanligt att familjer reste iväg med flyg på chartersemester. Reste man utomlands så var det ofta med bil och genom Europa till ett varmt och soligt land och resandet var en del av målet i sig.
