I’ve been thinking a bit over the last few days about what people actually think about Christmas and what in fact is the ‘reason for the season’? Terrible tag line but stay with me! I believe it’s about Jesus. As our pastor put it the other night during the carol service, it is about the incarnation of God – God coming to earth, to humanity, to us, to me. SHED A LITTLE LIGHT. Just a thought or two…. I’ve recently been introduced (electronically anyway) to Mark Driscoll who is a pastor at Mars Hill. Note to the guys in particular, listen to this. And tell me what you think. Yeah I know it speaks mainly to husbands and how they seek to honour their wives and relate to their children, but I also think he is speaking directly to all men and how they relate to all women and how they should resemble Christ in their everyday lives and relationships.

I think the care system for children in the UK is fundamentally flawed – it responds to crises and social workers get very little opportunity, if any, to do preventative or therapeutic work with young people and their families. My dad will disagree with me completely on this and say that all those young people need is a good dose of boot camp!
