The project was ably led by Lilla Baker and it is hoped that the end result gives pleasure to all and better business for our traders. We do know for sure that the result was hugely appreciated by an army of caterpillars that appeared soon afterwards but Lilla led a pincer action with her bug gun! The Knowle Society 2002-2016.

A Waitrose spokesman has advised The Knowle Society. The well documented changes in trading patterns across the supermarket sector have impacted the viability of the planned Waitrose in Knowle and sadly it has been necessary to put our plans on hold for now whilst we continue to monitor market conditions. The Natural Environment committee (previously Nature Conservation) was formed to manage the Knowle Nature Reserve after the site was saved from development in 1971.
