S93: Galvanised Steel Tree Sculpture. Stylish, elegant, and bespoke metalwork .". Afflecks Palace, Manchester 2011. This dramatic galvanised steel. Tree sculpture was commissioned for the side of Afflecks Palace; a shopping arcade in Manchester with an eclectic mix of small independent stalls and boutiques aimed at the student market. The spreading growth of the tree suggests youthful and inquisitive exploration. Its larger branches were formed from sheet steel which was textured.

The Blacksmiths' Induction Forge. Verdigris; where engineering becomes art .". An induction forge uses the principle of electro-magnetic induction to heat metals and is remarkably quick, very green and efficient. The metal being heated is placed inside the water cooled coils and many thousands of Amps are passed through them. This induces a short circuit current in the metal and causes it to heat up .rapidly. The temperature can get to close to 1500 C in seconds.
