Friday, July 10, 2015. OF CAMELOT" Original free verse: A Lament for Pendragon (Free Verse). Wilted branches of lavender,. Violet and primrose,. From an antiquated vase,. In complete harmony with gravity and time. Withered petals and leaves have collected below,. Like rain from a breaking swollen cloud,. Pooling onto parched earth. Beneath their skeletal branches. Dead on their respective battlefield,. Still donning their colors of glory. Beside the old vase is a waxen mound. That used to be a candle.

From threads of deception,. I had no perception,. From which this begun. You covered me completely;. So neatly and sweetly,. With a blanket made of lead. Here I remain,. Perched upon a cotton cloud,. Tethered to a bed. The potpourri of roses. Transcends osmosis and are dead;. The cushion has disintegrated;.

Those who stand outside, looking in;. Make assumptions and predictions,. Attempt to define the person I am. By the clothes I wear. Or the words I've written;. And under their breath,. Curse the Christian,. Alluding to Pagan tradition. I remove the societal thorns. And I shall weather the storm,. Follow me, follow me, Home.
