Kate Pond, Sculptor. World Sculpture Project travels during 2015. We remove the time capsule from the SOLEKKO sculpture at the Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology in Olso, Norway on June 4. Adults look over their artwork completed in 1996. People gather around the sculpture HIMEGURI on summer solstice in anticipation of seeing the contents of the ceramic time capsule. Kate Pond, Sculptor. 13 x 5 1/2 X 1/4, corton weathering steel with a bees wax finish. Pond's step into Tibetan calligraphy started with ink and brush and now has been transformed to her traditional material. Having seen mani stones carved with 'Om mani padme hum', the mantra of the Buddha of Compassion, she was inspired to translate the carving from stone to steel.
