http://acheflearnstogarden.blogspot.com/2010/09/is-it-fall-yet.html
A Chef Learns to Garden. Some hits( and a few misses) from my kitchen and garden. September 5, 2010. Is It Fall Yet? After a little rain and some (slightly) cooler temperatures, I forayed out into the garden this morning to see what was still holding on after our hottest ever August. It may still be in the nineties, but these are all signs that fall is on the way. (Sigh of relief! December 6, 2010 at 11:36 AM. I love the senna. I need to encourage some of that in my yard. Yay! A Chef Learns to Garden: Spring ?
http://acheflearnstogarden.blogspot.com/2011/01/spring.html
A Chef Learns to Garden. Some hits( and a few misses) from my kitchen and garden. January 20, 2011. As temperatures dipped into the 40's this afternoon and a cold front promised another hard freeze in Austin tonight, nature is saying "Spring" rather than winter in parts of my garden. These daffodils were poking there heads through the ground and others nearby were 12 inches tall, looking like they are about to burst into bloom. The tall ones broke ground mid- December, believe it or not. A Way to Garden.

cherries heart chives: Surprises
http://cherriesheartchives.blogspot.com/2010/06/surprises.html
Monday, June 14, 2010. We've had some surprises sprouting up here in Brooklyn. Not only have almost all our seeds come up into lovely dollops of seedlings, but there are wildflowers growing into every corner. First came a rose bush that climbed out of our neighbors backyard and over the fence, spilling wave after wave of delicate pink blossoms at the foot of our garden. There's also been some truly unique wildflowers that seems to just march over on their own and settle in just fine by themselves. Subscr...

Monday, June 7, 2010. Kelsey and I squatted down in the backyard to finally confront the overwhelming clumps of our garden's all star seedling- grandpa admirer's lettuce. With some real gentle maneuvering we thinned out the two modest rows of bushy heads and found that our count had. Multiplied into over fifty seedlings! Fifty heads of lettuce people! Who wants some summer salad? We'll be begging you all to become herbivores. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Union square flower spree.

http://gardenerofgoodandevil.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
The Gardener of Good and Evil. Sunday, November 16, 2008. Well, there are still plenty of cheerful colors in the garden, like this lantana that's trying to turn into a giant bush that devours everything in its path. Actually, come to think of it, this lantana needs a new location, and it might be entertaining to pit it against a purple potato vine. Botanical Death Match! Duchesse de Brabant, close-up:. http://cherriesheartchives.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 26, 2010. May was a tempermental mistress this month- from freezing cold temperatures, to sweltering heat waves and even a prediction of hail! Each day we read the sky, tested the air, and consulted the internet. Can we plant the sage yet? Well, the patience and soothsaying paid off and we've got tons of little guys sticking their heads up. And our early riser. grandpa's lettuce! Black eyed susans, lavender hyssop, ground cherries, peppers, and two lanky tomato plants. I believe these bird...
