Stage 28: Abilene, KS to Topeka, KS. By getting an early start, we were able to log quite a few miles before the heat started dialing up. This was a key since we had 108 miles ahead of us. After the flats of western Kansas, we are now riding rolling hills which should continue through Missouri. Avg Speed: 18.0 mph.

Note the flags - really windy. There were rows and rows of dairy cows in this feed barn. No "la vache qui rit" here.

Stage 51: Brattleboro, VT to Manchester, NH. Today's stage was a real tester - 87 miles, over 6,000 vertical feet of climbing and three 15% grade climbs. We entered our 13th and final state early in the ride. Our route was one of the nicest we've had. Mainly quiet, tree-lined roads. Avg Speed: 14.9 mph. Avg HR: 125 bpm.

Stage 14: Provo, UT to Price, UT. While not too challenging in length at 75 miles, today's stage had a 45 mile climb to Soldier Summit at roughly 7,500 feet. We rolled through local streets for the first 12 miles and then entered this canyon which was a screaming wind tunnel. Avg Speed: 14.6 mph. Max Speed: 44.7 mph.
