But I'm only one person...: first steps
http://rebeccagallman.blogspot.com/2008/12/first-steps.html
Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Acknowledging the poor, the oppressed, the unjust, the ignored, the desperation of others, the abuse of the rights of each and every human, the cries for help and the blatant disparity between the developed and underdeveloped communities is one step. Realising you can make a difference is the next. Why should I do anything? And there are so many answers to the question, it all depends on each person, but someone once said to me. Make the choice to change this world.

But I'm only one person...: December 2008
http://rebeccagallman.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 16, 2008. I've recently been around people who are so completely driven that they have reinvigorated me! It's easy to become relaxed and complacent over the holidays. Everyone seems to be in the spirits of doing nothing but chilling out with family and friends. I have to admit after an intense year, that's what I was looking forward to this summer. But poverty doesn't wait. I wanted to know everyones secret. Maybe one would suit me and keep me going! So now, my holiday is packed with pl...

But I'm only one person...: The story of stuff
http://rebeccagallman.blogspot.com/2009/04/so-ive-been-quite-curious-about-where.html
Wednesday, April 1, 2009. The story of stuff. So I've been quite curious about where all my 'stuff' comes from that I talked about in my last blog. In conversations with a few friends I realised I really didn't know much about the complexities of how we get our 'stuff' and where all the demand for 'stuff' comes from. So many questions.so I decided to get onto the net and have a look! Check it out http:/ www.storyofstuff.com/. Enjoythen share the story with your friends! Monday, April 27, 2009. But I'm on...

But I'm only one person...: March 2009
http://rebeccagallman.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 23, 2009. I love quotes at the end of emails. Some can be quite quirky, rude, poetic, philosophical and bloody hilarious. I saw this one today in an email. They kill good trees to put out bad newspapers.' James G. Watt, quoted in Newsweek, 8 March 1982. This one got me thinking about the story behind our resources and the responsibility we have in using them well. Just looking at the amount of paper I use in my everyday life.it makes me question 'Do I recycle enough? There is a story behind...

But I'm only one person...: Cambodians' suffering
http://rebeccagallman.blogspot.com/2009/03/cambodians-suffering.html
Tuesday, March 3, 2009. When I visited South East Asia, my favourite country by far was Cambodia. A favourite travelling place is always such a personal thing, always depends on what you love about communities, the experiences you have, how long you are there for etc, etc. However, I am not surprised to find that the majority of the people I know who have travelled to the stunning country, Cambodia is also their favourite place. And today I read about forced evictions for thousands of Cambodians. With Po...
