http://beijingdou.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Juicy Tidbits and Inane Rambles from The Beans in Beijing. Monday, January 16, 2012. On Moving (aka How to Procrastinate Moving by Blogging). I've got 3 or 4. Posts in the works, but they'll be (even more) on hold for a few weeks while we finalize a move from the west side of the city to the east side. In fact, the only reason why I'm posting right now is because I'm procrastinating my systematic breakdown of each room in our old apartment. Here's a shot of the one room I've finished (via Instagram):.

It's currently 5am and the temperature only just deigned to drop below 32C. It was, in fact, still baring its teeth and being 35C at 3am. Please help. Send ice. 3 comments Leave a comment. Beijing Dou: Here Kitty, Kitty
http://beijingdou.blogspot.com/2012/04/here-kitty-kitty.html
Juicy Tidbits and Inane Rambles from The Beans in Beijing. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Here Kitty, Kitty. I hesitated writing this post because I didn't want the site to be indexed for all sorts of weird Hello Kitty SEO high jinks. But the way I see it, not much of anything is being indexed here these days, so might as well choose the Kitty over nothing. I'm going to move on. The Hello Kitty Dreams Restaurant is the first officially licensed H/K restaurant in China. It's decorated as a sea of pink and...

http://beijingdou.blogspot.com/2012/11/news.html
Juicy Tidbits and Inane Rambles from The Beans in Beijing. Friday, November 02, 2012. I'm trying to get a new blog off the ground using Wordpress, which I find easier to work with. Actually, it's been a while since I logged into Blogger, so it's nice to see they've cleaned up the interface. It used to be so sluggish. I'll be doing my personal writing over at Daddyblogger.me. And you can find my professional writing over at The Next Web. Over at the new site. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Juicy Tidbits and Inane Rambles from The Beans in Beijing. Monday, April 27, 2009. The Beans Play Host (or, Florence Tries All Manner of Street Food). So, we got back from Shanghai last Friday and had a couple more days with Flo and Preston before they headed back to the states. The apartment feels so empty now without two extra bodies. Part I: The Mais. We squeezed into three-wheelers. Then let my dad pretend to wheel my mom around. Took them to Houhai,. These are the fruit they come from! No pictures o...

Beijing Dou: Xiaolongbao : The Write-up
http://beijingdou.blogspot.com/2010/03/xiaolongbao-write-up.html
Juicy Tidbits and Inane Rambles from The Beans in Beijing. Monday, March 15, 2010. Xiaolongbao : The Write-up. I know it's been a few weeks since Chinese New Year, but I wanted to take some time to do a write-up specifically on the xiaolongbao (steamed soup buns) and dumplings. By the way, continuing with our homestyle Chinese theme, we'll eventually get to a write-up on hand-pulled noodles, Niuroumian (beef noodle soup), and Zhajiangmian (fried meat sauce? Which we made for M's birthday this past weekend.

People who want to show of their great inter-cultural learning, should only do so if they have any - Word of the Day

Word of the Day. People who want to show of their great inter-cultural learning, should only do so if they have any. Oct 15th, 2010 at 9:36 AM. What we can't stand is when people make assumptions and show off their ignorance, especially when they're belligerent about it. Sorry, it has just come to be very irritating. Which brings me to my story. The awful thing was that the guy wasn't even drunk. Bah. So, moral of the story:. There, rant over. Sorry, couldn't help it. 9 comments Leave a comment. Moreover...

Beijing Dou: PEK to TPE
http://beijingdou.blogspot.com/2011/10/pek-to-tpe.html
Juicy Tidbits and Inane Rambles from The Beans in Beijing. Monday, October 10, 2011. I have this random tradition of writing a post whenever I step outside the Great Firewall. I've been thinking about why that is, and I've mostly decided that it's to maintain the illusion that the reason I don't blog on here as much as I'd like is because I have to go through the trouble of posting from our VPN. The truckloads of ultra-fresh seafood that we'll be consuming this week should help with that.
