Flodden Ride-Out

Click for photos of the cavalcade leaving. Thursday- Coldstreamer Jamie Nicolson led an impressive 326 horses and riders out of Coldstream towards England heading to Branxton. It was a lovely ride and everything ran smoothly; the cavalcade charged up Flodden field at 12.30pm. The return journey set off at 2pm, returning into Coldstream at 5pm. 26 horses left the lees for Leitholm for the last rideout of the week. After a stirrup cup at Godfrey Brysons the cavalcade entered the woods at Parkside and onto Kincham woods, Castlelaw, Darnchester, finally arriving at Leitholm at 5.45pm. There was no return ride. The Lees, Coldstream. Coldstream High Street, Guards Road, Duns Road, Fields to east of Kincham Wood, Dunglass Wood, Castlelaw, Darnchester West Mains, Marlfield, Leitholm High Street, Bughtrig. Birgham Ride-Out

The Coldstreamer left Coldstream with 35 horses and headed towards the Hirsel house stopping for a refreshment from Brian and Joan Jack from the North Yorkshire Caravan Club along the way, after a short little ride to Birgham we arrived at the Cairn at 5.45pm for a wreath laying ceremony after which the Coldstream Guards and 2 Coldstream Pipe Band pipers lead the Coldstreamer along Birgham village to the field opposite the Fisherman's Arms.
