May 17: Vimy Ridge. We could also see craters that were created by the allies and possible locations of trenches throughout the grounds, that are now grass-covered and forested to prevent erosion. The site also has two cemeteries that we were able to walk through. That experience was sobering as well, and I recorded many inscriptions that were on the graves as they were very moving. It was sad to see that many headstones were nameless and said “soldier of the great war.”. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Elaine has way considerably pictures on facebook and on her blog! Madagascar Independence Day celebration in Antsaravibe, “Vignt-Six”. Our goat Jim, that we ate for “Vingt-Six”. Our Canada day celebration, beers and tsingy! Malaria murals with Peace Corps. One of the murals: “Prevention, Symptoms, Cures”. Seeing the sunset from the tsingy.

Today’s agenda includes chateaux de Versailles and le Musee Louvre. Rebecca and I are on the train to Versailles right now and managed to get on the right train, yay! A young Parisian helped us find the right RER train to take us straight to Versailles. We’ll arrive a little later than we wanted too, but that’s to be expected when traveling in a foreign city I guess. The estates were beautiful! We’ll still find room for crepes later though…. June 23: Outline of our projects. To start manipulating our data and writing the report. Our professor, Pr. Michel Aimé and Dr. Justin are very easy going and relaxed about the project and told us to take our time and focus on the methodology of our data rather than producing particular results.
