Victory and Peace: Beginner's Luck

http://victoryandpeace.blogspot.com/2012/04/beginners-luck.html

Saturday, April 21, 2012. I did finish it! It's all quilted and bound (in a fabulous orange nonetheless) and hanging in its new home at the quilt shop. I just love the Amy Butler peony fabric that I based it on and I am so pleased with the outcome. Too bad that I can't cuddle with it at home. Isn't the middle block so wonderful? I love how part of the shoo-fly blocks make it look like the centre star has a second star around it. I don't know why, but stars and shoo-fly blocks are two of my faves. I was t...

Victory and Peace: some quilts to share

http://victoryandpeace.blogspot.com/2011/06/some-quilts-to-share.html

Monday, June 20, 2011. Some quilts to share. This is a quilt that I made for my sister Frances (Paul's mama) on her birthday last year. I forgot to take any pictures of it before giving it away, so it has been unblogged until now. I think that I bought it as a quilt kit, but can't remember where. It's made of fabulous, bright batiks and a white on white fabric. The design is from Atkinson Designs called Lucky Stars. Thanks for stopping by! June 21, 2011 at 8:07 PM. July 26, 2011 at 9:18 AM. Victory and Peace: Addison's Quilt

http://victoryandpeace.blogspot.com/2012/01/addisons-quilt.html

Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Last October/November I sewed up a little quilt for a baby shower for my friend. I used blocks from my month from The Maple Leaf Bee 2 quilting bee. I was originally planning to add an off white border around each block and then some scrappy sashing, but in the end it was a perfect quick project for a baby. I hope my friend and her baby girl will enjoy this quilt for many years. These are great blocks Nicole. I may have to do one of these : ). January 11, 2012 at 9:41 PM.

Victory and Peace: Bee Quilt

http://victoryandpeace.blogspot.com/2011/08/bee-quilt.html

Saturday, August 6, 2011. I finished up this quilt at the beginning of July and gifted it almost immediately. It went to some friends who were in need of some encouragement during a difficult period in their lives. I made the quilt with some blocks from my two online quilting bees ( Circuit Block Party. And The Maple Leaf Bee. On Flickr that had a block I loved, so I decided to make my 4 blocks with it. For the double borders I decided to try a new free motion quilting design. It shows up best in thi...

Victory and Peace: Doll Quilt Swap

http://victoryandpeace.blogspot.com/2012/04/doll-quilt-swap.html

Tuesday, April 10, 2012. I managed to finish up my doll quilt for the Doll Quilt Swap 12 on Flickr. I am so thrilled with the results. It was rather difficult to send it off after all that work! I have always maintained that I hate foundation paper piecing, but I thought that I would try it again with some special paper. I found that the paper made a good difference, and I think that my machine being serviced and the tension being so much better helped out a great deal as well. I am still waiting to rece...

Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Well, if you look closely, you'll note that my last post was September 2nd. Turned out that my computer's hard drive crashed later that day. Katja's Quilt Shoppe: June 2011

http://katjasquiltshoppe.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Friday, June 24, 2011. Had the great idea to host a. At the store. A great time was had by all and the proceeds from the sign ups went to MS. Below are some of the resulting quilts. I was so pleased with the blank pallet that this quilt allowed. I asked Linda to quilt it with a very whimsical overall effect, in very bright colours. Isn't it great? Can you find the message in this quilt? Here is a close-up of the words! Dream, Believe, Be. Linda you are amazing! Labels: Dream Believe Be. One of the pictur...

Katja's Quilt Shoppe: Dog eats Homework!

http://katjasquiltshoppe.blogspot.com/2012/02/dog-eats-homework.html

Saturday, February 4, 2012. We've been having a lot of fun with our English Paper Pieced Hex-a-thon here at the store. And there has certainly been more interest than I expected. But, sometimes interest comes from unexpected places. As Marie's dog Dexter proved this week. Notice the little teeth marks in the papers and the needle still attached. Labels: Dog eats Homework. And I thought my cat, Ginger, was strange because she likes to maul all of my foundation and applique patterns! Here's what I follow.

Katja's Quilt Shoppe: November 2011

http://katjasquiltshoppe.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 2, 2011. And I have just returned to International Quilt Market in Houston Texas to check out all that's new in the quilting world. Everyone needs time to eat! Of course we always take in Sample Spree the night before Market opens to get a sneak peek. Anxiously lined up, waiting for Sample Spree to open. Here is a photo of a small portion of market taken from the second floor. I've been told that the entire space is the equivalent of 14 football fields. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Who we are - The story behind Victory and Hope Ministries. Psalm 27:1-4 "The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear. The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh,. When my enemies and my foes attack me, they shall stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;. Though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek:. The good news is we can!

Victory in life despite lyme disease. About me.and you? Victorious Over Lyme Q & A. January 7, 2017. On the road again…it’s so great to be on the road again… I can still hear Willy Nelson singin’ that song in my head. And it was so great to be on a road trip to the mountains -my home- with my kids on Christmas day. Having been there and come home, and getting back into “real life” again I’ve realized a couple of things. Now I have a question: Where do I go from here? A year gone by. December 15, 2016.
