Fueled and Ready To Go
The gluttony of Hollywood – Vida's Crucible
https://vidascrucible.wordpress.com/2016/05/22/the-gluttony-of-hollywood
Fueled and Ready To Go. The gluttony of Hollywood. I was going to blog about something else, something more literature based, actually, but instead I’ve been forced to detour, on a subject that I feel I need to speak about, whose second trailer dropped less than 48 hours ago. I will not rant at the screen, nor at my audience. I promise. I’m not going to link the vid, you can find it on YouTube. But needless to say some of their arguments sounded pretty weak. Including gems like:. 3 The original cast....
Locker Graffiti – Vida's Crucible

Fueled and Ready To Go. Vida isn’t my first name. It’s more like an alternative name, something that only my best friends and family know about. I grew up with both innocence and naivety. I studied with both purpose and without conviction. I work now with both focus and disinterest. I’ve left my twenties for my thirties and while I know more I don’t think I know better than I did when I was young. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. The fear of our capability, and our greatness – Vida's Crucible
https://vidascrucible.wordpress.com/2016/05/29/the-fear-of-our-capability-and-our-greatness
Fueled and Ready To Go. The fear of our capability, and our greatness. First of all, apologies for a few things, specifically the last one before the Ghostbusters critique, which was a little spiralled and confusing. It was spiralled and confusing to me, and I wrote it, and rewrote it, and rewrote it. These are all great examples, some of them are intentionally flat in order to promote relatability. They are also all primaries. Hallie was mentioned only as a footnote. That’s just a literary snapshot.
Bagel – Vida's Crucible
https://vidascrucible.wordpress.com/2016/11/29/bagel
Fueled and Ready To Go. This entry is not about circular buns with holes in the middle. Sorry. Bagels only have an outside, and the Jewish perspective on things is often said to be one constantly on the outside, looking in, so it’s not hard to see the irony of a bread, synonymous with Judaism lacking a fixed center. I grew up watching the UK TV show ‘Band of Gold’, so it explains the prostitution angle, but I can see a recurring theme here. November 29, 2016. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. You are commentin...

On the Road to Academia. May 25, 2013. Displaced Desire and ‘Symbolic Physiognomy’: Alan Davison on Rossetti and Music. Rossetti’s use of instruments appears at first glance to be the idiosyncratic approach of an artist with a magpie-like attraction to visually arresting objects.’ [1]. The exotic instruments in D.G. Rossetti’s paintings have frequently been remarked upon. [2]. Extracting the instrument from context, Davison examines its function within the pictorial composition of Rossetti’s works, and c...

On the Road to Academia. May 20, 2013. En fin, il n’y a que l’amour’: T. J. Clark on Picasso and Truth. As part of Bristol’s Festival of Ideas. T J Clark returned to the city of his school days to discuss the subject of his new book, Picasso and Truth: From Cubism to Guernica. Clark’s preoccupation with Picasso’s works stemmed from the argument that he played upon the bourgeois desire to see illusionism in art: representation of familiar objects and bodies. [1]. Watercolour on Paper, 137 x 137 cm. Century Flemish paintings and stained glass windows. It has been suggested that the painting is ‘laden with sexual symbolism’. [1]. Viernes 14 de agosto de 2015. Bienvenido a Vidas Cristianas.
