Sunday, May 24, 2015. Quiet Memorial Day weekend. Hanging out at the beach or a swimming pool, anything to get her and my dad out of the house. She seems a little resistant to all of it. I really want to encourage her to DO things because I can't stand to think of her just sitting around all day, but I guess it's not about me. I hope it's a good visit for both of us. Personally, I'm trying to figure out how to think about my mom's cancer. Should I move home? Will she be doing these treatments for the rest of her life? Will she ever travel again like she loves? Monday, May 11, 2015. Post Mother's Day blues. One more Portland observation. no one is ever in a hurry here. I guess that's one of the reasons we moved to Portland- to escape the madness and frenzy of SF- but it's totally true. People are perfectly content to sit back with a drink and take their time- no hurry to place their order, no big deal to wait for food. Makes for a much more relaxing experience for everyone.
