Wednesday, October 12, 2005. BATELCO the only monopoly ISP in Bahrain seems to have blocked Skype. Skype was working fine until a few days back but today 12-10-2005 when i tried using it to voice chat with my family spread across the world, I was unable to login. Any nerds out there who know how to get around this problem. Please note the LOGIN to Skype itself does not work, you enter your username and password and then nothing happens Skype keeps trying and then gives up saying critical error. MANAMA: A...

View From Bahrain: Debut

http://viewfrombahrain.blogspot.com/2005/08/debut.html

Sunday, August 07, 2005. Finally i've done it, my blogging debut. Have been in two minds always about blogging prefering to leave my comments on other blogs but never setting up my own. Will start publishing my views on my own blog henceforth. What will I talk about, my pet topics are:. Mumbai and everything about Mumbai. Occasionally I get all worked up about Politics in India and in my neck of the woods that is GCC (popularly known as the Gulf Countries). Posted by Bedoon Esam @ 5:06 PM.

View From Bahrain: August 2005

http://viewfrombahrain.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 30, 2005. An article I recently read quoted American Statesman Robert Green Ingersoll who said, ‘ There is something wrong in a government where they who do the most have the least. There is something wrong when honesty wears a rag and rascality a robe; when the loving, the tender, eat a crust, while the infamous sit at banquets’ . People in power love to quote the best literary source they can lay their hands on but do they really practice what they preach. Tuesday, August 23, 2005.

View From Bahrain: RELEASE from NOC blues in Dubai......

http://viewfrombahrain.blogspot.com/2005/08/release-from-noc-blues-in-dubai.html

Tuesday, August 23, 2005. RELEASE from NOC blues in Dubai. As reported in this Khaleej Times Story. Today the UAE has decided to lift the 6-month ban practice on any expat employee wishing to resign from his job or change jobs. This ban practice is equivalent of the RELEASE LETTER practice followed in Bahrain. This 6-month ban used to be imposed at the discretion of the sponsor thus effectively enslaving the employee to the sponsor. Posted by Bedoon Esam @ 5:38 PM. View my complete profile.

View From Bahrain: Personal Loan burden crushing in Bahrain..........

http://viewfrombahrain.blogspot.com/2005/08/personal-loan-burden-crushing-in.html

Saturday, August 20, 2005. Personal Loan burden crushing in Bahrain. A fellow blogger from bahrain has started a blog LOANSINBAHRAIN. Which intends to discuss the burden of personal loans which majority of the population faces in the country. I recall reading a news item in the GDN. About the loan noose that hangs around majority Bahraini necks. (more so locals but even expats who qualify aren’t far behind). For a small population of Bahrain the loan burden is enormous and ever increasing. Figures re...

Snup's View From the Back Pew

Sunday, November 30, 2014. I have been officially transferred back to St. Louis, effective today! I have bought a house. YAY! It's not quite in the neighborhood I want, but pretty close. It's actually in the parish of Epiphany. I vaguely remember my last visit.after awhile, all the churches blend together unless something spectacular happens. (like dancing.). I was sitting there going I can overlook the vast expanses of white if I am spiritually fed, if there is good music. No O Come O Come Emmanual?

What's in your case? What are the things you carry around all the time? Links to this post. On marching band memories. My apartment is still unfortunately hot. View from Baja Arizona. Using Rotenone to restore endangered fish may be endangering people. March 7, 2011. Using Rotenone to restore endangered fish may be endangering people…. But you won’t find out because some folks don’t want its use in Arizona waters — or any waters — subjected to review. Fisheries managers say Rotenone and Antimycin A have been used successfully to restore native, sometimes endangered, fish to their traditional habitats. They say without the poisons it would be impossible to r...

The View from Baku | Adventures in Azerbaijan

The View from Baku. November 23, 2008 by Jim Trengrove. I landed at Washington-Dulles Airport on schedule Saturday afternoon, 17 hours after leaving Baku. I breezed through Immigration, the baggage carousel, Customs, went through the. Door, and found Roberta waiting with the car at the curb with a rose! The police on patrol, eventually, told us to move on, and we drove to Reagan National where Chelsea’s flight from Denver arrived minutes later. Thanks to all of you who frequented. Meanwhile, the first ADA.

The View From Behind Home Plate

The View From Behind Home Plate. Friday, July 24, 2015. Twelve Little Boys Believing Big Things. So last week happened. And there is a lot I could write about it. The five days between Thursday, July 16th and Tuesday, July 21st were about a lot of things. It was about a husband, a father, and a coach who doesn't like it when I blog about him. So that's all I'll say about that. It was about at least seven singings of the National Anthem. And seven recitations of the Little League Pledge. And about hoping ...
