Off the coast of California, surfers have more to worry about than the Great Whites that hunt the waters from Santa Barbara to San Francisco. Here we see a rare photo of the saltwater carivore, Macrocystis Triffidus, preparing to strike! My fantasy homage to writer John Wyndham aside, this is a great picture I captured with my Sony DSC-HX1.
