Community, Commute, Communicate! | The View From Fairview

https://viewfromfairview.wordpress.com/2011/03/08/community-commute-communicate

The View From Fairview. Musings by Robert Linden. Community, Commute, Communicate! March 8, 2011 in Radio. A little about radio news…. COMMUNITY: The medium is doing just fine because it is LOCAL! COMMUNICATE: However, there is a mistaken idea that there is clarity through the use of jargon. Constant jargon! Writers are alway challenged not to use clichés, but to say exactly and specifically what they mean. That also applies to overused jargon. The operative word here is “challenge.&#82...I also nominate...

The View From Fairview. Musings by Robert Linden. More real. Less phoney…please. February 10, 2012 in Uncategorized. I’ve had enough. I don’t like being marketed to at the best of times, but marketing is now exceeding “celebrity” as the driving force in our lives. And I don’t just mean Advertising Agencies. It taints every point of view wishing to shill a message. It sounds more romantic and precious. I live here. There is no such thing. Join 3 other followers. Comments feed for this article.

The View From Fairview. Musings by Robert Linden. From my Image Collection…photos by Robert Linden. March 1, 2011 in Photography. A rare image of the Marine Triffid. Off the coast of California, surfers have more to worry about than the Great Whites that hunt the waters from Santa Barbara to San Francisco. Here we see a rare photo of the saltwater carivore, Macrocystis Triffidus, preparing to strike! My fantasy homage to writer John Wyndham aside, this is a great picture I captured with my Sony DSC-HX1.

The View From Fairview. Musings by Robert Linden. The view from across the border. April 13, 2010 in Diversity. On a recent trip to Arches National Park in Utah, I drove home by way of Idaho. It’s known as a hotbed of right-wing, anti-government militia types. One of the reddest of the “Red States! 8221; And I’d have to “pay with a major credit card inside, ’cause we don’t take no debits.”. 8221; I’m 60-ish, mustache, goatee, diamond in my left ear, hair spiky. The word came at me as if I have ...8221; P...

Thursday, 11 September 2014. People of Earth, we have a problem. It's big, it's bad, it's ugly and it stinks. You already know all about the millions of tonnes of waste we dump on our beautiful green planet, so we won't harp-on about it here. It's time to focus on the positive plans afoot to create packaging that isn't rubbish. Gregg Segal - 7 Days of Trash. Spanish company Laser Food. A View from the Fire Escape

A View from the Fire Escape. Thursday, July 30, 2015. I know that I have been lax in writing. View From Five Feet. Meat vs. Veg. Oh, Squirrel: What the Deal? February 18, 2013 in Uncategorized. By now we all know about my hatred of snakes and how awful they are. It’s time to move over, Snake! There’s a new villain in town and he may suck even worse then you. Not so fast, Snake. You’re not out of the woods yet. I may have to see you again before I decide. We’ve put some space between us and it’s helped, Snake. It really has. But for now…. And probably call someone to come back and catch you again.
