Many times He saves us from our "wants.". Of course we took him. Poor baby, he cried all the way to Iowa. The movie The Shack.

And the purr of the furnace. Robins sing in newly budded trees. While raindrops fall and. Thunder rumbles in the distance. In the cool of the evening. The voices on the sidewalk. And the air conditioners hum. Brisk, cool winds whip the trees;. Leaves swirl and crunch under foot. While squawking geese fly south.

Pausing to hear the beauty in all of life. Friday, August 19, 2016. When you're picked last. Do you remember grade school recess? I do Some were fun. Some, not so much. I wasn't very athletic, and I was a little chubby. I was pretty much one of the last to be picked for the team, whatever game was being played that day. Funny, how most of the games that were played in grade school involved running. I think about that now, and I wonder why? Hmm Thinking out loud here. Not a good combination. Blessings to ...

Pausing to hear the beauty in all of life. Friday, October 7, 2016. The months since June have felt like one test after the other. Tests of character and resolve. Tests of integrity and living by truth. My truth. More than ever, there have been tests. seemingly endless. Moments for tea and breathing and living in-between. But, tests. I've been learning more about myself since June. I'm learning old patterns and unlearning them. Learning new patterns of self-care and self-compassion. Permission to be alone.
A Ready Listener: It's time
http://areadylistener.blogspot.com/2016/11/its-time.html
Pausing to hear the beauty in all of life. Saturday, November 19, 2016. It's time for more beauty and less chaos. It's time to watch the birds. Flitting at the feeders. It's time to smile at the squirrel antics and stop scolding them for stealing the bird seed. It's time to show compassion to animals and people. Even people I disagree with. Compassion and joy and enjoyment of all that is around me. It's time to surround myself with. These have become my dearest friends. Friends who lead me to truth.

Pausing to hear the beauty in all of life. Saturday, September 24, 2016. I'm at the table for coffee time. I'm with my parents and the old people. I'm always with the old people. They are my dad's aunt and uncle. But, these old people are like grandparents to me. They raised my dad from age 16 after he came to the New Country from the Old Country. His aunt taught him English. I love my great aunt for that. She is nice. She is lovely. I am five and I don't know what's coming soon. This would be the reason...

A View from the Fire Escape
A View from the Fire Escape. Thursday, July 30, 2015. I know that I have been lax in writing. But this morning I shared a musing that came about during a interdenominational clergy meeting in Detroit. Here is what I wrote on my face book page:. What would happen if we invited those we clothed and fed to seek a relationship with God? What would happen if we engaged the person who was handed a bag of food in conversation? In other words, what if we took the time to build a relationship with God's children?

We’ve put some space between us and it’s helped, Snake. It really has. But for now…. And probably call someone to come back and catch you again.

How a 28 year old from the US views the world from South Korea. Thursday, August 13, 2009. My 10 Favorite Things About Living and Teaching in Korea. I'm two days away from leaving Korea. In two years of living here, I have developed deeply ambivalent feelings about both my experience here and the society itself. A couple days ago, I was re-reading The Prophet. And I was surprised to find a section that echoed my feelings about leaving Korea:. Nay, not without a wound in the spirit shall I leave this city.
