About Me and my blog. Friday, 29 May 2015. WW1 memorial at Tatton. Back in April we went for a walk around the park at Tatton in Cheshire. As you can see it was a glorious spring day. I could zoom in to take photos of the deer without getting too close! The No.1 Parachute Training School was stationed at Tatton from 1940-1945. When a new house was built in 1716 the Old hall was abandoned.it was all closed up behind a wall so we couldn't see much of it. Then a walk back through the woods towards the Hall.

View from my attic
View from my attic. Adventures in the world of Heritage and History. Thursday, 11 August 2016. It takes a village. Lacock is a rather unusual National Trust property in that it's not just a property, not even an estate, it's an entire village! And a beautiful village as that, even if it is a little odd around the edges! There was a somewhat stepford-y feel to Lacock and at one point I did think we were going to get asked to leave the village after we went into the third cafe asking for afternoon tea befo...
