View From the Duck Pond: Where to Live in St Louis (around Washington University)

http://viewfromtheduckpond.blogspot.com/2006/05/where-to-live-in-st-louis-around.html

View From the Duck Pond. Monday, May 01, 2006. Where to Live in St Louis (around Washington University). I get asked a lot by friends and people I meet who are coming to grad school or undergrads moving off campus. Where should I live? Well, this is my attempt at putting down my thoughts for that. There are really four nice areas to live in around Wash U. It all really depends on what you're looking for in a place to live, but those are my thoughts. Posted by Miranda @ 2:30 PM. View From the Duck Pond: Fall Nights on the Porch

http://viewfromtheduckpond.blogspot.com/2006/09/fall-nights-on-porch.html

View From the Duck Pond. Wednesday, September 13, 2006. Fall Nights on the Porch. I pointed this out to my friend, thinking that I had finally come up with a way of explaining why those comments are upsetting, but he said it was different. And I think anyone I try to tell this to will not be willing to listen to a comparison between racism and sexism. As a society, we are willing to tolerate sexism where we find racism abhorrent. So, apparently, apples and apricots store poison in their seeds. In fact some apricots and bitter almonds(not the kind we commonly eat) have caused children to die from cyanide poisoning. It totally gives new meaning to the story of Snow White, you know? Poisoned apples and all. Http:/ www.geocities.com/perfectapple/cyanide.html.

View From the Duck Pond: Book Review:

http://viewfromtheduckpond.blogspot.com/2006/01/book-review-passing-for-thin.html

View From the Duck Pond. Monday, January 30, 2006. I first read Passing For Thin last fall. I saw it in the bookstore one day when I was looking around. It was during one of those times when I was starting another diet. I thought that the story of a woman who had lost 170 pounds sounded rather intriguing. I've since been working through some of these issues and picked up the book to read again while sick in the bed this weekend. I was ready. Posted by Miranda @ 12:24 PM. View From the Duck Pond.

View From the Duck Pond. Friday, May 26, 2006. So, I graduated a week ago with both my Bachelor's and Master's, and last night I had my big graduation party. It was fabulous! At least 50 people were there, all having a good time, talking, eating, dancing, grilling, etc. People I've known for six years from freshman year, former roommates, underclassmen from EnCouncil, colleagues in the CEC, my boss, people I've only met recently, and people I didn't even know. Now, on to the second overall pick, the Philadelphia 76ers! The 76ers were ecstatic when they saw their logo appear out of the second overall pick envelope. So, now the talk starts…. Should they go with the consensus #2 pick in Evan Turner or go outside the box with maybe a Wesley Johnson or a DeMarcus Cousins?

A View from the Dream

A View from the Dream. Sunday, September 10, 2006. It's like sailing through butter. Sometimes it's frozen, and sometimes it's melty, and usually it's right in-between, where you can slip through and back and forth without much resistance but still feeling like you're getting somewhere. It's the pushback at the edges, where you can see really well because you're not looking too hard. The air is solid! Posted by Jymi X/0 @ 10:26 AM. Wednesday, August 30, 2006.
