Just Jordan: Home away from home
http://jordan-hamilton.blogspot.com/2015/05/home-away-from-home.html
Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Home away from home. We have moved into our summer home! It took a lot of work and a lot of help. Thanks to Luke for helping getting the truck packed and my mom and dad for the unpacking, setting up, and watching the kids! We had a garage full of stuff, so we rented a 24 foot U-Haul truck! It is already half empty here! We could actually have a conversation :-). What do you think of the mint walls? How do you like the paint in this room? More of a sage green this time! Boone and ...
Just Jordan: June 2015

Thursday, June 18, 2015. Many people ask me what color Boone's eyes are. The verdict is finally in. I googled what "hazel" meant. It is a mix of green and brown and depending on the light, a person's eyes could look like either color. I may be the only one who didn't know this! I am back to being unsure! Hugh's dad also has green eyes, and now I am itching to see him again so I can examine his! Boone has exploded with his words. There would be no point in. Boone absolutely loves being outside. Unlike...
Just Jordan: May 2015

Friday, May 29, 2015. On Monday afternoon I got some anxiety. Hugh had forgotten to tell me he needed the van for work. I had all 3 kids at home with me on Tuesday and the days when we don't leave the house, I often lose my mind about 4:00 pm. I had planned on taking the kids to the city in the morning, but since that wasn't possible anymore I had to reassess my options. He has Hugh's endurance. There is no doubt about that! Unfortunately, I think poor Calder has mine. After seeing me praise Boone fo...

Friday, January 30, 2015. Today is my last day of work. . . Okay Now I may be worrying. Enough thinking about it. Let's just say I am optimistic (most of the time). I am living for the next few months without having a plan. For my return to teaching. And it sounds like I am okay with it? Progress, people. Progress. If you want to see how I was feeling about being done work with Boone, feel free to have a read HERE. It even surprises me how differently I was feeling! Have a wonderful Friday! I have been c...

About Us/Contribute to this blog. Farming is Big Business with a Big Heart. November 1, 2016. By Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan. By Serra McSymytz, Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan. Throughout October, we have been celebrating Agriculture Month in Saskatchewan, a province whose primary goods-producing sector is agriculture. The theme Our Food Has a Story. Here’s an alarming statistic: there are 60% fewer farmers in Canada today than in 1901 and 548% more people to feed. Thankfully, we are fortunate enoug...

View from the Ranch Porch. My views on Farming, Food and Life. Why This Canadian Rancher is Thankful to A&W. March 8, 2016. March 9, 2016. That’s right. You read the title correctly. I am a Canadian Rancher, and I am thankful to A&W! And Andrew Campbell’s piece for Real Agriculture, I’m Done with Fearing Food and Done with A&W. Do an excellent job of explaining why this is a huge issue for not only us Canadian beef producers, but for a grain grower and dairy producer as well. But wait a minute…. The hard...

View from the Ranch Porch. My views on Farming, Food and Life. Highest of Highs and the Lowest of Lows on the Ranch. April 25, 2016. April 26, 2016. Calving is just getting underway on the ranch. The heifers (first time Mommas) are nicely starting. Heifers are young, inexperienced mothers, so they often need a little help with their first calves. We check them every couple of hours to make sure everything is going well. My momentary high was cut short when I realized we still had the other difficult situ...
