The view from the teahouse – chengdu, sichuan, people’s republic of china. So, I’ve decided to get real and dedicate an entire page of this blog to what is probably the most interesting part of being here: Sichuan’s cuisine. Wow. When we first arrived in Beijing, every single person we ran into said, “. Oh, man. You’re going to love the food. First, a couple of pieces of etiquette:. Or maybe even Laoban! A title akin to host or perhaps, inappropriately, maitre d). I have decided to keep a running list of...

The view from the teahouse – chengdu, sichuan, people’s republic of china. And I have certainly found it, even here: they express their passion in their food. Not spices, and certainly not creativity. My own kitchen is a riot of flavors and ideas I am frequently disappointed in chefs around the world who can’t think outside the box of Buddha’s Delight or Pasta Primavera. Or numb-hot. This is the result of pairing traditional red chilies with. Do you like Chinese culture? And then, inevitably:. A large pa...

Stuck in the Middle: 04.15.2010
http://stuckmiddle.blogspot.com/2010_04_15_archive.html
Stuck in the Middle. See what happens when you move two life-long coasters into the middle. We sat outside for a while in the shade Tuesday night. As you can see, Froglette had a great time. Our neighbor and his dog joined us for a while which gave Froglette plenty of things to look at. This girl likes being outside! I got this new wrap to wear her in while walking. It's a woven wrap so it has less stretch than the Moby (the orange one). Our next thing to try is to wear her on my back! Links to this post.

Stuck in the Middle. See what happens when you move two life-long coasters into the middle. Well, as is expected around these parts, life got in the way with potty learning. Plus, school was not super enthusiastic about the whole idea and that coupled with our own hectic few months led to us backing off. She still used the potty quite a bit and often wore big girl panties on the weekends, but we didn't keep pushing school to try it much during the day. Only one accident on Wednesday! We unfortunately hav...

Stuck in the Middle. See what happens when you move two life-long coasters into the middle. By the fourth of July. We hear from our corn geneticist neighbor that this doesn't apply to corn any longer here (it better be much higher than your knee! But we were pleased to see that our own little corn is more than knee high! Too cute for words. Happy Birthday. 05 July, 2010 19:19. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Miles (r.i.p.). Bicycles of China | Views from Inside the Hot Pot
https://taijichuan.wordpress.com/bicycles-of-china
Views from Inside the Hot Pot. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Tricycles are used to move flowers around the city, which always makes for an awesome sight. Many of the bike lanes in China, like this one, are completely separate from car traffic, although sometimes cars use them when traffic is really bad, or to get around stopping at a red light. Many vendors use tricycles to both move and display their wares. This woman is selling fresh pineapple from her tricycle. Another tricycle flower cart. This ...

Yep, the government controls when the heat is turned off and on in most places here! Can you believe that? Last night I went out to dinner with some co-workers to a restaurant I had not been too before. The one nice thing about the colder weather. places start serving hot-pot again! Friday, November 16, 2007. Direct Advertising in Korea. But then again, so does everyone else in my apartment building. Once in a while, my apartment manager comes by and rips them all down, sweeps them out of the hallways, etc. In the beginning, I would dutifully clean my door each day, or sometimes twice a day. Some weeks back, I stopped bothering. Frankly, I think the autumn colors of my welcome sign blend nicely with the primary hues of pizza and chicken fliers. Tuesday, November 13, 2007. Whose week...

Sunday, June 06, 2010. After a run of nearly five years or so, I've decided to retire my blog and turn to other things. My life is about to get a little crazy, leaving not much time for blogging, lingerie modeling, or much else. I'll be leaving this up for a while, for posterity, of course. It's been fun and no doubt, somewhere down the line, I'll have a new blog. Be sure to look me up. Posted by Melanie O. at 6:01 PM. Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Guess who's coming to dinner? View From The Terrace. Musings from the pitch. April 22, 2014. We all knew this was coming. It was evident for months that something had to change and this morning the news came that David Moyes had been sacked as manager at Manchester United. I know there have been many reasons that supporters can point to throughout the season, but I think this was doomed from the beginning. Yes, yes, I know he has a right to bring in his own people. But if your people haven’t done squat how do you justify it? Moyes...
