Fiber Art By Andrea: March 2013
http://fibersong.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Fiber Art By Andrea. Sunday, March 31, 2013. Above is a machine gun type of contraption, which could shoot 9 shells at one time without reloading. And below is the first "tank", which looked like a weird-looking Yurt, but which had wheels and cannons to shoot. There were seats inside for four men to operate the wheels and guns. Not quite sure how they could see out of the tank to aim, but it certainly was innovative! Thursday, March 21, 2013. I used commercial fabrics and some of my rusted fabric (shock!

An international collective of fiber artists exploring sources of inspiration and creativity. Wednesday, July 8, 2015. I love Betty’s suggestion of using unconventional materials. It’s something I'm always trying to do, but I didn’t have enough courage to take the challenge. I look forward to taking this opportunity to step out of my comfort zone. 169;The Kyoto Costume Institute, photo by Toru Kogure. Stomacher, 1760s - bouillonné silk satin, chenille threads. An international collective of fiber artists exploring sources of inspiration and creativity. Friday, February 27, 2015. I believe this phrase is part of baseball terminology? For my ninth and last challenge of this second cycle, I have made a map quilt. Returning to base - to making a map, the type of quilt I'm currently best known for. I haven't made a map for any of the previous challenges. The village green is also used for fairs and festivals; it is a community resource which brings people together.

Viewpoints 9: Finding New Purpose
http://viewpoints9-3.blogspot.com/2015/08/finding-new-purpose.html
An international collective of fiber artists exploring sources of inspiration and creativity. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. My compositions don’t usually stick to traditional quilt conventions, but my materials do. Typically I use just three main ingredients: cotton fabrics, batting and thread. So I guess anything outside that short list would be unconventional for me. Posted by Kate Themel. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Taiwan International Quilt Exhibition 2016. An international collective of fiber artists exploring sources of inspiration and creativity. Monday, March 2, 2015. This is the last work of Veiwpoints9- 2. I like to play with the sewing machine, just as young children play with toys. The pieces of this work were free stitched by machine a few years ago. Sometimes I thought the line of machine stitch is like drawing. I was cutting and piecing those pieces now. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Viewpoints 9 - Cycle 1. SAQA Auction quilt- Indigo #1.

http://viewpoints9-2.blogspot.com/2015/02/pick-up-game.html
An international collective of fiber artists exploring sources of inspiration and creativity. Friday, February 27, 2015. A pick-up game in baseball, and in other sports as well, is an impromptu game of players that are there at the moment of play. There can be some fairly random participants. It is not a serious endeavor, rather, something played and enjoyed at that moment. Really, just play. It occurred to me that I should approach this as I were to invent a game. Taking only. An international collective of fiber artists exploring sources of inspiration and creativity. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. It's all very strange! They all very strange and alien to me. I do not use unusual materials in my quilts. I use hand-dyed cottons, in particular cotton sateens, and I use specific palettes for consistency, each palette dyed by a different specialist artist. I have my own hand-dyed palette as well, although I do very little dyeing myself. I like consistency! Experimentation requires a m...
