Rose, geum, hypericum, potenilla – In a vase on Monday – 29 June 2015. Tennis: the most perfect combination of athleticism, artistry, power, style, and wit. A beautiful game, but one so remorselessly travestied by the passage of time. In a vase on Monday’ is hosted by Cathy over at www.ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com/. The other flowers are:.

Wordless Wednesday – halloween flowers hanging on. 3 November 2016 – Halloween flowers going strong – 2nd pumpkin though. I did this flower arrangement as ‘the lid’ of a pumkin as part of an arrangement at my course at the Women’s Institute – Denman College on 23rd October 2016 – that pumpkin’s long rotted. Crocosmia, rose, achillea and hypericum – 10 August 2015. This week the weather has been pretty wet in Manchester, we’ve even had two monsoon rainstorms today. I decided to pick the brightest flowers in my garden today to help cheer myself up:. Flowering much as I think it’s in the wrong place. I’m going to move it to pots next year. I got this one a co...

SWEETENED – Suede & Symphony

http://suedeandsymphony.com/2015/08/10/sweetened

Tracks of the Week. Posted on August 10, 2015. It won’t be long until Suede and Symphony. Celebrates its first anniversary and what a year it’s been! There are so many layers to blogging that people don’t see, both the good and the not-so-glamorous, like the days of planning that precedes a brief, ten-minute photoshoot but there are also other aspects of it that have seriously enriched my life in the best imaginable ways possible. Jumper: Topman Shorts: H&M. So for this outfit, I took inspiration from ca...

The Casual LBD | 100 Things I Love

http://www.100thingsilove.com/2015/06/the-casual-lbd.html

I love keeping my outfits interesting by dressing up informal items or by dressing down more elegant pieces by pairing them with casual accessories. For this OOTD post, I was inspired by one of my favorite timeless trends: the casual Little Black Dress. I wore this outfit to the bloggers' styling event at Goodstock. I paired my LBD with a super-casual summery light-wash denim jacket and finished the look with a H&M shoulder bag and some simple black leather sandals. June 23, 2015 at 9:53 PM. I have a bla...

In a vase on Monday: Rosy Posy | homeslip

https://homeslip.wordpress.com/2015/08/10/in-a-vase-on-monday-rosy-posy

In a vase on Monday: Rosy Posy. August 10, 2015. August 10, 2015. For this week’s In a vase on Monday I was inspired by Cathy’s mum to create a small posy to welcome home my daughter for the weekend. I had in mind a little Victorian posy and this is what I managed to glean from the garden. A flowering stem from Nandina domestica. One stem of Sedum, not yet colouring but such a good filler I’ve realised. One flower from Japanese Anemone ‘Honorine Jobert’. On my mantelpiece I have the last of the acidanthe...

Sew not buy project #4 – April | Tilly Mint Boutique

Sew not buy project #3 – March. Sew not buy progress →. Sew not buy project #4 – April. May 30, 2015. My make for April was severely delayed due to writing assignments, therefore I have only just got round to making it. Subsequently my make for May will follow in quick succession! I learnt from my last sewing bee make and did a trial run on some cheap fabric. I’m so glad I did as the top was way too short and there were a few bits of the instructions I was glad to practice. I therefore made...You seem so...

Not a Carrot – Off The Edge Gardening

https://offtheedgegardening.wordpress.com/2015/08/08/not-a-carrot

Off The Edge Gardening. August 8, 2015. First pick a load of rosemary. Beat it into submission with a rolling pin and stuff it into a container of your choice. I use a spaghetti jar, quite why there is one of these in our house I have no idea, but at least this makes good use of it. Push similarly whacked cloves of garlic and a couple of chillies (yes I know it looks like a carrot) into the jar. Stand back and admire your handiwork. Strain off the gunky stuff and bottle up. Flying Ant and other Stories.

December 2014 – Off The Edge Gardening

https://offtheedgegardening.wordpress.com/2014/12

Off The Edge Gardening. December 20, 2014. December 20, 2014. Yesterday, after a week of rain and gales, it was a pleasant change to experience some winter sunshine at Lavinia and Lionel’s. The day was especially important as it was one of those milestones that we invent for ourselves but all the same are of consequence; it was my last day of work before Christmas. For the record it turned out to be a very satisfying day. It saw the completion (! As is generally the case Phase Two will follow Phase One &...

Later at Lionel and Lavinia’s all was much calmer and definitely more beautiful. This blog began in the fall of 2008 as a record of my experiences in Paris with the Nouveau Parti Anti-Capitaliste (NPA). I resume writing now, in February 2014, with the intention of commenting on the upcoming EU elections. I write from Boston with particular interest in France, Italy, and all the parties and movements in Europe that are trying to create a sustainable alternative to the impending capitalist catastrophe. Friday, May 16, 2014. The EU's Great Debate. But was there anything to say? Since th...
