Tuesday, February 24, 2009. New project from laser class, we had to make patterns. I posted a bunch of detail shots just so you can see how awesomely detailed the machine can cut. Tuesday, February 17, 2009. We had to make books for our digital print making class and I did mine on typography. It's kinda therapeutic to layout things with type. I just really enjoy connecting letter forms together and fitting them in very geometric ways. This is a detail of one of the pages. Final all laid out.

Saturday, December 13, 2008. Also this fall I did a monster serious of shirts for Freedom Surf Shop and I really enjoy working with them. They give me full freedom so it's just nice to crank out some different and fun stuff. My favorite is the monster shaka on the back! I will probably be doing some more shirts soon too. Feedback is always welcomed! Hopefully there will be more decks to come soon! Just finally convinced my self to get a blog so expect a huge sketch book dump soon! I draw some things.

The Work of Daniel Robbins. Friday, August 24, 2012. Here is a portrait commission I recently finished. I made the epic drive to Fort Lauderdale, Fl (from Virginia) to work with the model and develop the composition. This was by far the most intense process I have used for completing a commission, but I was quite happy with the final result. The first painting I painted from life. In this scene the sun had just set behind the trees next to the house, and the porch light of the house had just been turned on; there was something quiet and beautiful that begged to be painted. Monday, July 28, 2014. In this exercise, I took a shot at setting up a tiny fight scene. I've always been a fan of pure action and clean fight choreography. I feel like Jackie Chan really set the standard in this regard. His action scenes are fast-paced, dynamic, and entertaining but are rarely ever graphic or gratuitously violent.
