Vintage Vignette

Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Just a couple of weeks (end of December 2014) after we moved into our new home this was our landscape. The ground was dry by this time and extremely hard to dig into. Looking very raw. Out the back the landing strip (septic tank) looks raw as well but the orchard is nice and green. The landing strip is going to be a challenge, thinking of just throwing lots of seeds around and see what happens. Two varieties of pear growing. Reckon if we went another metre down it would be one hu...

Vintage Vignette: January 2014

http://vintagevignette.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 20, 2014. Getting to know Donnybrook and surrounding areas. I think I have found the place to call home. I am so loving Donnybrook and enjoying exploring the town. Have found a great walk which takes me about 40 mins down one side of the river, across the weir and back the other side. It is so hot here at the moment so I leave my walk until around that time, the wind has come up and cooled it down somewhat. Not a lot to share with you at the moment just letting you know I am here and happy.

Vintage Vignette: Christmas in the New Home Down in the valley

http://vintagevignette.blogspot.com/2014/12/christmas-in-new-home-down-in-valley.html

Friday, December 26, 2014. Christmas in the New Home Down in the valley. Our first Christmas in our new home after moving in on the 10th December we finally got there. Above is my only attempt at Christmas decorations. The lovely Jenny who worked in the SBH's shop and was always so helpful. We still have work to do, ie painting doors, floor coverings and in autumn the gardens a new challenge and one I am looking forward to. December 26, 2014 at 9:42 PM. Vintage Vignette: Bird watching

http://vintagevignette.blogspot.com/2015/05/bird-watching.html

Wednesday, May 13, 2015. We have heaps of birds around the house and this little red robin came for a couple of weeks with two females last spring before the house was built, hoping they will come back. Was so excited as I had only ever seen Red Robins on Christmas Cards and was unaware that they are in Australia. This is the reason that we haven't got a cat, as much as I would love one. This comment has been removed by a blog administrator. May 13, 2015 at 4:33 PM. Love the birds can watch for hours.

Vintage Vignette: My Book of trees

http://vintagevignette.blogspot.com/2008/05/my-book-of-trees.html

Friday, May 30, 2008. My Book of trees. On the cover made from a vintage small photo album is a photo with one of his baby sons, he was a real family man. On the inside cover in a little pocket a family history and a tribute to the people of the maori race in maori and english. the next page is a clear pocket with his wedding photo. The frame hinges Joanne bought me over the internet and I wanted to put them on something special. The twigs top and below are wrapped in vine and aged copper wire. All the p...

Vintage Vignette: Dwellingup with Nina

http://vintagevignette.blogspot.com/2008/05/dwellingup-with-nina.html

Friday, May 30, 2008. Well all the stock is back on the shelves, cartons cut up and disposed of, and mail dealt with, now I can try and do justice to a amazing week of uninterrupted art with the wonderful Nina Bagley. At the most beautiful serene property of Banksia Springs. Lodge with a group of like minded women. Here is Mandy W, camera in hand, other footprints in the dew covered lawn. Nina showing us the chin thing! The messy workers table, Mandy W and me. Denise set the ball rolling with putting ent...

My journey with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 and my efforts to become a creative photographer for my own pleasure. Thursday, December 12, 2013. My journey with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 and my efforts to become a creative photographer for my own pleasure. Monday, February 24, 2014. Wednesday, February 5, 2014. For some reason I am unable to put text on my blog other than as a caption. These birds where on one of the dead trees just down by the river. Think they look good outlined against the sky. Little blue wren on wire outside the back, just so beautiful flitting here and there. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Picnik for fun photos.

Jackys Photographs: recent photography

http://jackysphotographs.blogspot.com/2014/06/recent-photography.html

My journey with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 and my efforts to become a creative photographer for my own pleasure. Thursday, June 19, 2014. I took these a month or so ago, just loved how this colony of mushrooms or toadstools just popped up on the edge of the garden growing from the timber border. Had to sit my camera on the ground so consequently couldn't see what I was getting, took a few shots angling it one way then another. June 20, 2014 at 1:51 PM. June 20, 2014 at 2:07 PM. My journey with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 and my efforts to become a creative photographer for my own pleasure. Thursday, July 25, 2013. Can you see the smaller ones just starting, well, one of them has a bud coming up so now I will be able to see what they where. The brown outer part of the bulb makes the water go a bit brackish, I wonder if you could peel it off before putting them in, like an onion. I had these glass marbles, think they look better in white stones. My choice for July - food. Kirsty b...

Thursday, September 10, 2009. Pre-Trip Preparations- August 1-4, 2009. Fortunately for me, my slip-neighbor, Capt. Steve, was down on his boat. He gave me a hand unloading the top from the truck, and bringing it aboard the boat. Once I made the preliminary modifications, he helped lift it up for the first dry fit. A few more slight modifications, a little silicone caulk adhesive, and 1-2-3 the granite is on. Boy, what a perfect fit! Wednesday, September 9, 2009. We spent an uneventful evening on the boat...
