The Back Pew: March 2012
http://thebackpewofbac.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 18, 2012. Sunday, March 18, 2012. Links to this post. Tuesday, March 13, 2012. We're around. I've been extremely busy this year and have neglected my blogging duties - interning for the Catholic News Herald in Charlotte (which I've enjoyed, greatly). Things at the Abbey are more or less the same, excepting the fact we're at the center of a major lawsuit that no one seems to really care about. Hang around awhile and you'll see more updates here. The weather is getting warmer. Wine for the Wo...

Sunday, December 25, 2011. I'm sure you all have your share of well thought out and meaningful reflections on other blogs to read that will enlighten your understanding of Christmas and the Incarnation. Maybe they will illuminate the meaning and importance of love which will later resonate with you as you get together with friends and family. I'm not gonna waste your time with reflections and insights. You can get those somewhere else! Instead, here's a Holiday Classic from the Pogues:. Links to this post.

Friday, August 17, 2012. The Gospel according to Memes. A couple reflections on life at Belmont Abbey - the first is my take, the second is my suitemate's. Both pretty accurate ;). Posted by C. Jackson. Friday, August 17, 2012. Links to this post. Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Serving my time at the Abbey, I've met some pretty amazing people and made some pretty amazing memories. Not only have I changed, but my perception of the Abbey has too. My fling began like an impassioned love affair, and it was a ...

The Back Pew: St. Patrick's Day
http://thebackpewofbac.blogspot.com/2012/03/st-patricks-day.html
Sunday, March 18, 2012. We were treated to several classic Irish tunes by four seminarians and a priest, and there were plenty of sing-a-longs to be joined in. The highlight for everyone was definitely hearing the original tune, unnamed, but titled The Unstable Song by everyone at the Unstable that night. The night was not allowed to continue an hour after the rendition until the demands for an encore were met. Sunday, March 18, 2012. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Random Things At BAC. The Back Pew: FREAKY, Ghost in a Catholic Graveyard
http://thebackpewofbac.blogspot.com/2010/07/freaky-ghost-in-catholic-graveyard.html
Wednesday, July 28, 2010. FREAKY, Ghost in a Catholic Graveyard. When we come back with items in tow, we smell this awful stench of death. Big surprise in grave yard, right? Yet we continue in our pursuit to figure out if Scholl Family Cemetery is in reality the cemetery which was once on the site of the old Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Ghio, NC. I have included a picture pointing out our locations on the site, and one completely unaltered. ONE BIG QUESTION: Who is that shadowy figure? Later, upon r...

Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Hello Again Back Pew! I know I haven't posted in a while.a LONG while. I've missed you all greatly, but I have been quite busy with goings on at the Abbey. Sunday, December 23, 2012. Reflections of a recent Abbey graduate. A former Abbey student and good friend, Nathan Brown, reflects on his time at the college. Posted by C. Jackson. Sunday, December 23, 2012. Links to this post. Tuesday, December 11, 2012. In the fashion of the contemporary Abbey male debutante. White, homeschooled, upper-middle class. Neoconservative leaning monarchist. See, ultramontanist. Most Abbey students and professors are wonderfully tolerant, open-minded people. There are (obvious...

The Back Pew: November 2011
http://thebackpewofbac.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 28, 2011. Of Light and Darkness: An Advent Reflection. In death the world blazed one last flash of brilliant red and orange, declaring to the chill of an ever increasing night: I am not yet vanquished. And overcome, finally, the land was rendered barren. Exposed skin dries and cracks over whitened knuckles that grasp at a tarnished and worn knob. A heavy door opens; wind rushes past the refugee, whipping at his coat for a moment. The door closes. Faces look up: one small group huddled ov...
