What’s your point? Looking at the big picture. For as squeamish as our culture acts towards politically incorrect generalizations, we’ve ironically ignored the persistence of some among the media and their attempts to perpetuate hefty stereotypes. To illustrate this point, what’s the first word that comes to mind when I say: George W. Bush? You thought, cowboy. Right? Or perhaps, tongue-tied. May 20, 2008 at 2:16 am. Can I See that Again? I’ve discovered that there are a lot of people in New York City.

http://thelocalgeographic.blogspot.com/2008/05/geriatric-indy-movie-is-immature.html
The World outside your door. Thursday, May 22, 2008. Geriatric Indy Movie is Immature. The opening shot of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull told everything. Paramount pictures' infamous peak flickered familiarly on the screen to the beloved anthem of the Indiana Jones series. I settled down into my seat and prepared. Which would lay out the opening scene of the movie. I waited to see which mountain it would be, Peru, Nepal, Nevada, Ukraine. a gopher hill in New Mexico? Swinging from gre...

As an adult, Tesla experimented with the electro-magnetic field, and is acclaimed for the invention of alternative current. His entanglements within the field of scientific inventions led to rivalry with Thomas Edison, and a great friendship with Mark Twain. He invented several things. He might have invented several others. He also might have thought that these were inspired by UFO. You are commenting us...

Status Quo →. March 2, 2010 · 7:49 pm. Here is a quote from the movie to put you in the mood for black capes, twilight, and Hugh Jackman, or at least mega magnetism and electricity:. When I rang the doorbell to the vintage b&b that houses the museum, I felt like I was an accessory to the pledge of a magic trick. It struck me as an eerie piece of dramatic flair. The museum entrance was the turn. He was a man who looked like a Monty Python Hitler in rumply black jeans, a tightish zippered black polo, and b...

The Local Geographic: Neuhaus meets Neuendorf

The World outside your door. Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Today we had as our luncheon speaker, Richard J. Neuhaus, a former "Lutheran" pastor who is now a Catholic Priest and "Intellectual." This of course depends on your definitions of what a "Lutheran" really is. He said to me that he had given being a Lutheran a fair chance because he was one for 30 years.
